After Tonight’s performance, who do you think we need to sign?

Go all out and get O’Hare in next week.
Also a killer number 9 who will play on the shoulder and make the runs in behind.

A striker has to be number one priority

Maatsen on a permanent deal.
Without a doubt he’ll end up being a top flight player and an international.

Top striker and hopefully O'Hare to play the wide role. Providing only Cornet goes then after that just need some squad players as Kompany said post game

O'Hare and the lad from Swansea up front.

Just any depth Kompany feels we need.
Put Rodriguez and Twine in that XI for Barnes and Costelloe and we'll walk the league.

We need a goal scorer.
Kompany has mentioned a few times tonight that he expects the goals to be shared across the team

I don't think we need O'Hare, we have Brownhill and Twine.
If Max leaves we need an out and out striker. Someone more mobile, and we can afford to push the boat a bit if Max is sold as well. They should be relishing playing in a team that can play like we did tonight.

Need a big squad for this type of football. Agree though that Brownhill and Twine as a combo looks very promising.

Without doubt a striker who can score.
We got away with it tonight because you cannot have so much possession and look so toothless in front of goal

While I agree with the point on a striker you can’t really be saying ‘we got away with one’ - they had 0 shots on goal and 2 shots all game! Complete domination. Roberts and Costelloe had 2 clear chances first half too.

2 centre forwards, 2 wingers, back up centre midfielder & centre half and back up keeper (presuming the Northern Irish lad leaves)

No we didn’t get away with one . They were useless and posed no threat. The best opposition we could have hoped for.
Im saying we had no threat upfront

Cornet is 99.9% sure to leave.
A lot will depend on our plans for Lowton, Long, BPF and to a lesser extent Gudmundsson.

We clearly need a couple of strikers. A starter and one for depth.

I expect a striker and an attacking midfielder. Think we need cover in centre midfield as well. Worried about Cork trying to play with that intensity over the course of a Championship season.

Firstly, apart from Cornet, I don’t want there to be anymore outgoings.
We must keep hold of Brownhill.

To say we got away with one after that performance must rank as one of the silliest comments yet on this site.

I'd think they'd be looking at Brownhill, Bastien and Westwood (when fit) filling in if Cork is injured, suspended or jaded.

Costelloe played on the right, more of a 4231.
Twine for Bastien, O'Hare for Costelloe and a striker is a frightening side.

Wouldn’t drop Bastien.
Thought he was brilliant tonight. Won the ball so many times high up the pitch, clever movement too. He got us on the front foot so many times.
Him, Cullen and Maatsen were key tonight.

Striker
Wide midfielder
Centre half (left-sided although Taylor was outstanding tonight)
In that order of priority
Tonight was absolutely amazing but you can tell we're still short in those areas.

More bodies of the quality we have added, plus a striker. Jack Cork did brilliantly but was the last to arrive at the goal celebration huddle and looked knackered so needs to be rested as the season unfolds.

One thing that performance tonight will have done is taken away the need for Kompany to do the hard sell to players. A lot of potential signings will have seen that and thought to themselves, "I'd love to play it that side with that freedom", it can certainly have done no harm at all.

Vince hinted that we are not the biggest side in the league and I think that means that we need more height at the back. Teams will test us out with set pieces and high balls into the box - as they attempted in the second half tonight (it was the only way they were likely to score).
So I think a big CH is needed plus a decent striker.

How will they test us when they don’t have the ball and can barely get out of their half?

I dont think its a case of dropping anyone as if you add a couple of attacking players you have Bastien, Brownhill and Twine competing for two forward midfield roles with Cullen, Cork and Westwood (when fit) competing for the two deeper roles. Add O'Hare and a striker and then they are competing with Jay and Barnes for the two attacking roles

Need depth in CDM as backup for Cullen and Cork as they are fundamental to how we play.
Need another attacking midfielder to interchange with those areas (O’Hare one would assume) and add depth.
Need a striker who is quick and nimble and a finisher.
Need a central defender to add competition.
I say ‘need’, if that squad tonight plus Rodriguez was fit all season then you’d not need another player to get promoted - I firmly believe that. We need to ensure we have the depth referenced in my ‘need’ list so that this squad can continue to play at such intensity, as I feel injuries/strains will be inevitable.

We said that with the lads we were stood with, looked like he’d been playing for years and should have really scored in the first half too.

Will face tougher teams than that for sure however i would experiment v Luton.
Cullen in at CB
Taylor in nets.
Muric in midfield.
We're gonna **** this league i swear.

A few people asking for a centre half, but we had 2 mill new signing McNally on the bench, and we have perennial 4th choice Kevin Long also available.
For me a new striker is the next priority, and although it would have to be a loan, Delap at City I think would be a great fit for us.

All very promising.
Be interesting to see what Twine & Vintinho offer with more minutes, but at this stage a new centre half, wide option and an alternative to the ageing legs of Jay & Barnes would be ideal.

In order of priority
Striker
Out and out winger
Central defender
We need to be more clinical with our chances. Yes I admit that it's not like the premiership where conversion of chances is so important, but we should have been at least 3 nil up on that first half performance. In Kompany we trust!

I know they've lost a few player's but the core of that Huddersfield team played last season, they reached the playoff final, they've only lost two game's in the whole of 2022 and they were at home, we dominated them and with a decent striker last night we would of won 3 or 4 nil
