I know he didn't have to do much but so refreshing to see our keeper look so calm & cool with the ball,almost Ederson esque
Let's hope he can keep the ball out of the net .

Just needs not to take out his own players when he punches

No issues with that, when the ball comes in the box like it did it is 100% the keepers ball and you clear through any player in front of you, rather him be decisive like that than worried about hitting his own player and staying back on his line.

Very impressed with his calmness and distribution. Man City-esque

He had so little to do during the game. I am worried about his actual goal keeping ability though, only thing he needed to do was that punch that took out Taylor - and it was to a dangerous area and not cleared properly for my liking.

He is cool with the ball at his feet though

I’d rather two players went for the ball than two players leave it for each other…. I get the point tho.

I thought it was an excellent punch clear. No messing, straight out to it and got good clearance distance

Thought he looked brilliant last night.

Is that just passes completed? Does it include the times Muric kicked long up field? When it was kicked long I think every one was won by Huddersfield.

His distribution wasn’t as good as expected although a massive improvement on Nick Pope. His calmness was a major plus.
Not sure about the punch but he did get it into a vacant area so relieved the danger.

Im not sure what you mean by it can’t be right? Its both halves combined into the one graphic.

I interpreted it as his position on the pitch when he made the pass, not where it landed. Think it is demonstrating his role as a sweeper keeper. Or a Libero if you like.

Yes

Was close to being my man of the match. It was like having twelve players on the pitch. Whenever we were struggling under pressure they just popped it back to him and we retained possession.

He was absolutely fantastic

I kept shouting "Get rid FFS !" Hard to teach an old dog new tricks !!

I think any manager of note would have scouted him on his distribution last night and realised that he will gift possession away. There were a couple heart-in-mouth moments and I expect that we will concede based on this. If Kompany has accepted this then it isn't too much of a problem but it does mean we're going to have to score more to give ourselves that insurance.

Thought he was excellent. Huge, confident, composed. Fairly sure he even made a pass with the outside of his foot at one point. Looking forward to seeing more from him.

Kind of goes to poo poo the old ‘I prefer my goalkeeper to be able to make saves’ argument. When you dominate a game and your keeper doesn’t need to make saves then having a ball-playing one is like playing with an extra man.

Great debut. We’ll no doubt concede a few throughout the course of the season by trying to be a bit too cute, but if it allows us to dominate the opposition the way we did last night then it’s a price worth paying.

Wonder what those Forest fans made of him who kept saying he was poor? Absolute class last night.

I think there was one time when he was on the ball near the centre circle and there were two of their forwards behind him as well!

His short passing were very good, long passing were poor and gave the ball away every time

From what I've seen of him on tape, Zlatan, he is a really good shot-stopper. Rather Pope-esque.

Adds a completely new dynamic to the lads game. Never seen a composed keeper play balls out to our defense or midfield like that before. Top keep who I hope never gets done for his distribution. A great adrimission to a great squad. UTC

Im surprised this has only just been mentioned. I thought exactly the same at the time. It was a free kick I think

I am looking forward to seeing him play on Saturday ... hope it does not disappoint

big test for him next week, Luton are a huge side and have very good delivery so he will be needed to command his area for certain

But he got it right.... goal kick.

For a goalkeeper, he can mostly pass the ball.

We'll see if he is a goalkeeper, later, when there is a shot.

His passing and what that adds is brilliant. I suspect he is susceptible to the odd clanger.

People need to remember he will have weaknesses, which is why he plays for us and not someone better. We have been incredibly lucky over the past few years that we have had two amazing keepers who made so few mistakes

Passing the ball in this set up is more beneficial than being a great keeper…. Pope is probably miles better goalkeeper but muric is better for this team with this style over the season. So don’t worry if he lets a few in that pope would have saved. Think about the seasons value .

Interestingly it was the Huddersfield keeper that made a bad clanger playing out from the back , which presented a great chance.

Not going to go overboard because he had 1 cross to deal with and no shots but signs are good

You need to watch it again. Some fine passes but a few really dodgy ones that against a better side we would have suffered for. He might have been calm but they were poor choices. Passing to players with a marker on them, that is for a higher level of player than we possess.

There were definitely a few dodgy moments with his kicking and it was commented on by several people sat around me. No big deal and I'm sure they'll get ironed out.

Takes a lot of balls, clarity of mind and composure to play like Muric.

Give the guy a break it was the first 90 mins for a brand new team and set up.

They’ll be mistakes no doubt but I admire people who play the game like Muric.

Rewatched the advanced highlights just now, that big chance Costelloe had from Maatsen’s cross was started by Muric. It was an incredible composed pass between two Huddersfield players (who were squeezing up) and into Cullen’s feet who then spun and the break / space was suddenly on. Looking forward to seeing even better distribution when he’s more up to speed with teammates, mental to think he’s only been here a week!

I’m sure over the season we will hear “Pope would have saved that” but we also know that VK’s style will mean that playing it out from the back will be the norm and initial observations are that his distribution skills look much better than Popes! Horses for course me thinks.

He has the size, so let's hope. Having said that, no. 1 is still up for grabs! One in and one out?

His feet ,distribution and coolness were high class . He certainly did things with his feet that NP can only dream off ( that’s not the point though ) Playing a “total passing out” game does carry it’s risks and anyone even slightly aware of coaching that style will know that the keeper is encouraged to take calculated risks “ it’s the players job to receive under pressure “

For a fan that leads to the odd hairy moments and a couple of slightly misplaced/off kilter passes a game . The chip he did on the goal byline was pure poetry .
