I was going to watch the Wigan V PNE game but think I might go with the Luton game and see what we’ll be up against next week

Re: Today's Football
1st full day of the EFL season, come on QPR.
Couple of other tasty fixtures in the Champ.
Wigan-PNE
Boro-West Brom in the evening KO, an early clash between 2 of the promotion favourites.
22 years at Accy for Coleman, although they haven't been consecutive have they.

Re: Today's Football
Good start for Wade at Cheltenham in what I thought would be a tough home opener for them.

Robbie Brady started for PNE. This could be his appearance of the season.

A very different test. THB was so composed last night, but barely challenged for a header, let alone won one. Will be very interesting to see how we go.claretandy wrote: ↑Sat Jul 30, 2022 3:14 pmYep, i'm currently scouting them, big physical team, will be a different test.

Accy 1-0 down on Jensen's debut.
Cheltenham flying for Wade, 2-0 up at the break.
Stockport 3-0 behind to Barrow on their return to the league.

I dont really understand why pundits think Norwich are a dead cert for promotion. They haven't really changed much with the team and they were s*ite last season!

Won’t take long for Norwich fans to turn on Smith. They weren’t impressed last season at all.

Hanley everytime I hear that name it makes me think of Joey B giving him that look like he had trodden in something after Hanley legged him up in the B'stards gameclaretandy wrote: ↑Sat Jul 30, 2022 4:45 pmPukki done his calf and caveman Hanley dent off for Naaarrrich.

Re: Today's Football
I watched Luton, two huge lads up front and a big side over all. Need to not gie them free kicks and corners, their right back leaves huge spaces so Maatsen could have a field day. They are tenacious and get around the pitch pretty well. Their main play maker seemed to be Luke Freeman. Muric will play an important part coming for crosses, it will be a big test for him.

Great win for Barrow away at Stockport. You won't see many more teams winning at Edgerley park this season

Re: Today's Football
Happy to see Norwich get turned over down in Cardiff. A shame the Bar Stewards managed a win, but against a very poor QPR outfit by all accounts.
Luton will set us a tougher test next Saturday - they're certainly an aggressive side. Nothing we shouldn't be able handle though if we can play like we did last night.

I'm not sexist but these woman commentators, their voices go right through me,and it looks like the Championship coverage is littered with them.

Re: Today's Football
Middlesbrough look like a good team at Championship level based on that first half.
West Brom garbage and surely Steve Bruce is a good bet for first sacking.

We will make every attempt to keep the ball, then they will be powerless to bully us.

Two new boys Wallace and Swift combined really well there for West Brom, fair play to them.

No idea why Pawson couldn’t give that pen without VAR.
