Pulled his hamstring getting out of the car at Gawthorpe.

I am sure the hamstring will be fine when he is on the bench for us this Saturday.

Does anyone actually reckon Mark Robins would lie on Sky? Doesn’t seem like the type of bloke. I think it’s completely genuine.

Yes. But in any case he might be going off what O'Hare has said to him. It could also be genuine of course.

Hmm! maybe O'Hare is indeed injured, but my cynical nature senses he'll be on the move to TM soon.
Similar to Kompany not selecting Cornet due to him likely going out the door soon.
That's what often happens at this time of year with the window open.

Last kick of the training session trying a backheel.
Even if only a few weeks out we will have moved on by then.

It probably is genuine which means we’ll have to move our attention elsewhere.

Robins says it’s an injury and it’s likely to keep him out beyond the closing of the window.
Kompany has been up front re Cornet knowing he’s going to be leaving.

Fair enough if it's a genuine injury for O'Hare, then I hope we've got other irons in the fire.
Yes Kompany has been extremely forthright regarding Cornet, and planned for life without him accordingly.

Surely a short term injury wouldn't deter a signing?

If the injury is as bad as some of the Coventry fans have said then we should stay well away.
In my experience, substantial hamstring injuries tend to reoccur.

I think there nothing in this "injury" O'Hare said right at the end of training he tried a back heel and felt a slight tweek, he'll be lining up for us v Luton next weekend don't worry

Did then follow that up by saying something along the lines of “there’s a number to hit, we’ll have to see what happens”.
Clearly the ball is in our court and he is for sale at the price Coventry want, which is fair enough.

Why wouldn’t he? That’s exactly what Kompany has been saying (not so explicitly) for the past few weeks about Cornet not being involved.

But he’s going to lose a lot of respect from his own fans if he’s not been telling the truth.

The release clause with Cornet is why Kompany has been open.

In the case of Cornet I still don't understand why he isn't fit and why he hasn't been integrated into the training. Is he being frozen out just because he may leave?

You don’t want a 17.5 million asset doing his crucial knee ligaments just before finalizing a deal. Would mean no money and no player. That doom scenario just occurred here in the Belgian league with Tissoudali of Ghent. Can seriously impact the future of your club.

We still respect OC despite his reason for travelling to Scotland, don’t we? Don’t we?

During a heatwave you'd think flogging a Cornet would be simple. #recyclingtheterriblecornetjokes.

Medicals can tell whether a hamstring is injured now, but can they predict whether they will become injured in future? No doubt this hamstring will heal, but will it be prone to reoccurring? I doubt a scan could tell you that.

Hmm! I'd be wary about forking out £10m for O'Hare if there's any doubt about his fitness, that's a lot of dough to risk.

The thing about hamstrings is that once they 'go' it's a case of managing them. Though that's what we have a medical team for (as you point out).

Would an injury to O'Hare not make our current bid for him now look more attractive to Coventry?
From their viewpoint, he's no good to them injured and they could use the funds to strengthen before the window shuts.
From our viewpoint, if VK definitely wants him then it's worth playing the long game and getting him now (even if injured).

For me, if we are spending around 10m on a player at the moment, he needs to guarantee goals or be premier league ready.
He doesn't score goals and it's very hard to judge if he's Premier league ready.

Depending on the severity, most definitely.
When they reoccur more than once, the biggest damage can be psychologically, as the fear of it happening again can really affect an athlete.
