New player songs

It appears that Everton have a catchy chant for Dwight McNeil after just one friendly. Unless i missed something we didnt manage that over 3 years and McNeil ought to be more valued at BFC than somewhere like Everton.

Ben Mee never really had a song stick despite being arguably the most influential player over the decade where we've had the sort of success most of us thought we could only dream about. Even Barton and the reat if the lads tried to help us out with a good suggestion and it did nothing.

We have an influx of new players and we really need to get behind them and show them all our support.

Let's get the creative juices flowing and come up with some songs...

I think its unfair to compare us with the fans of a club like Everton who are one of the biggest clubs in the history of English football and have one of the biggest and best fanbase around

How can you forget the Ben Mee chant?

Ben Mee, Ben Mee, Ben Mee Ben Mee Ben Mee, Ben Mee Ben Mee, Ben Mee Ben Mee, Ben Mee, Ben Mee Ben Mee Ben Mee.

What's this catchy song they have for McNeil, then?

As for why ours don't seem to stick, see the negatives from Friday night thread.

Pilot - Magic

Woah Woah Woah it’s Maatsen

I have said for a long while now that our fan base is amongst the worst in the country for chants. We have no ‘anthem’, and every single player that comes in, no matter how good he is, if he doesn’t fit the generic chants that have been rolled out down the years (eg stevie stevie Davis and Andy Andy Payton) or if it doesn’t fit a chant other clubs have made up (see Vitinho and Defour songs) then forget about it.

Jolene - Dolly Parton

Scott Twine, Scott Twine, Scott Twine, Scott Twiiiiiiine,
I’m begging you to please take this free-kick.
Scott Twine, Scott Twine, Scott Twine, Scott Twiiiiiiine,
He’s going to make your keeper look like ****.

Thank you for the Music - Abba

(Saw this suggested on the forum but think the lyrics can be improved.)

Thank you Ani Muric,
is the song I’m singing.
Thanks for all the joy you’re bringing.

Who could live without him?
I ask in all honesty,
where would we be,
without our number one (49) in our team?

So I say, thank you Ani Muric,
For joining Burn-er-ley.

Everton fans are probably the quietest in the EPL. They woke up for the first time in years at the end of last season but the idea we should take lessons from them is laughable.

Everton fans are different in they sing quite a lot in pubs but not in stadiums, unless winning.

I fully intend to start a ‘negatives from Saturday’ after we win and the song selection & speed of singing will be top of the list followed by Cricket field coke heads, public address system being quiet, no hot water in the toilet, price of a twix, the difficulty in finding the correct turnstile, season cards not working, people standing up and also the clarets legends boards.

Ed Sheeran - Shape of You

I’m in love with this style of play
We pass and move like ballers

Since Vinny Kompany came to stay
Cullen ain’t put a foot wrong

And it’s hard to believe my eyes
Watching Maatsen and Scott Twine

Burn-er-ley discovering tactics brand new
I’m in love with style oh

Come on Burnley come on come on
I’m in love with you Burnley

Come on Burnley come on come on
I’m in love with you Burnley

Almost to Hi Ho Hi Ho it’s off to work we go.

Ian Maatsen, he ran, he ran, he ran
He ran, he ran, he ran, he ran,
He shot, he scored
Repeat ad infinitum.

To cricket fielders, that means repeat indefinitely. You don’t sing Repeat ad infinitum

We're Vincent's Burnerly
Aweeeeeeeeeaaa we win home n away

This was the original Muric effort.

So I say
Thank you for the Muric, the boys are singing
Thanks for all the shots he’s saving
Who can live without him, I ask in all honesty
What would the score be?
Without a catch or Egan Riley?
So I say thank you for the Muric
And Vincent Kompany.

Maybe change to this.

So I say
Thank you for the Muric, the boys are singing
Thanks for all the shots he’s saving
Who can live without him, I ask in all honesty
What would the score be?
Passing it out, he’s taller than me.
So I say thank you for the Muric
And Vincent Kompany.

Some great efforts on here, the Addams family and Abba ones are brilliant, love the Cullen making bastards look shite one too.

I think the one most likely to catch on could be the sweet Caroline one for Scotty twine and it would be fantastic if it did. could be a real anthem.
I think the ‘here we go again’ for VK fits perfectly too.
