Anyone going tomorrow ? First home game of the season for Padiham against the new team created by Bury fans.
Speaking to a lot of the Bury fans at the legends game at Gigg Lane recently most of them are against this club and don’t support them because they still have hope of getting the original Bury back one day.
Anyone know if they have a decent support ?

AFC Bury had a good following last season so assume they’ll bring a few. Id guess that a lot of NW Counties Div1 North teams had their highest attendances of the season when playing Bury

Decent gate for Padiham.
I think they get around 320 on average.

Bury FC & Bury AFC are at loggerheads with each other. The council would prefer just one club representing Bury. But AFC seem hellbent on going it alone. Bury FC never died, fans have worked tremendously hard to get them to where they are today. Owning, in conjunction with the council, Gigg Lane.
If I was a Bury fan, I’d be fighting hard to get my original club back onto the Gigg Lane pitch. Bury AFC are a complete new start up club. Have no right to call themselves the shakers, and flags portraying “the club that refused to die” they’re not, and never will be Bury FC.

Lets hope AFC fans see sense and move back over to Bury FC.
No fans no club

Bury FC did die. They haven't played a game now for three years. Those who started Bury AFC were Bury fans who wanted to see football continue in the town. Well done to them.

Interestingly there were two ex Bury season ticket holders sat behind us all last season (I think they are moving) with S/Ts
They said they tried to support the AFC Bury but that there was too much internal fan politics involved

Bury FC the company were never wound up. They were just kicked out of the league. Those fans should’ve helped speed up the bringing back of their club, in their town, at their ground. Instead, they share a ground in another area who already have a club. There was already plenty of football they could’ve watched, including Radcliffe Bro. If they’d all stuck together, “Bury till I die” maybe, just maybe football would’ve been back at Gigg Lane a lot quicker.

If you say that Bury fc never died and AFC Bury have no right to be a club then you must also believe AFC Wimbledon have no right to be a club and that their fans should support the original club MK dons. Also you must really hate Aldershot town, AFC Halifax town and so on.
Bury FC haven’t played in years and I don’t get why bury fans would rather stay at home in a Saturday in the hope their club will come back and bully it’s way into the national league then go put and actually support a team that exists and wants to represent it’s town. Madness.

I’m not saying Bury AFC have no right to be a club. You are putting words in my mouth. What I’m saying is. Bury FC were on life support, needing all the support they could get from their fans. But at the drop of a hat, they all p1ssed off to start their own. But like the love of your life being on life support, so a week later you shack up with someone else, only for your love to pull through.
All the history of BURY FOOTBALL CLUB is with those at Bury FC, at Gigg Lane.
The Wimbledon debacle is a completely different set of circumstances.
