Early days of course, but i really like the look of this lad, very quick feet and tricky to defenders.

Looked lively had zero end product, should have scored twice and didn't hit the target with either.

He did a lot better then Bastian but the bar wasn’t set particularly high after that first half. Still early days, the players need more time to gel and get used to this league so I wouldn’t write anyone on or off yet.

I'm sure there's other comparisons (the Gareth Bale one is a bit of a push) but he reminded me of Anthony Knockaert when he was decent. Some good footwork and nice crosses but no-one on the end of them. If he can get his head up and figure out what kind of runs people make then he'll do well.

If all you've got to aim for is Barnes, then it will always look like he has no end product.

won the corner that we scored from, trained once, in a new team in a new country and came on when we were chasing the game. More than a decent debut given the circumstances.

Lukaku cost 100 million and could't hit a london bus if it was 20 yards in front of him

I'd rather him than Aaron Lennon.

He did well. He's going to be fun to watch.

Benson is going to be a very fun player to watch.

Time will tell how effective he is in the final third. One thing I did notice is that after five minutes of being on the pitch he had two players marking him. It freed up space in the centre of the pitch.

It’s a shame twine is injured I feel we are missing that creativity in the attacking third.

Looked like a dog with a balloon, but he has only been here 2 days, these lads will need time to het used to both the system and the league.

It was an overhit cross. I said he looked lively but lacked any end product, I think that's a fair comment. Cornet scores one of those 2 chances cutting inside the area on his left foot and we win the game, that extra quality is key, hopefully he develops and produces more with time.

I thought he looked exactly what we’ve needed for years - a player who’ll scare defenders, take them on push them back.

They looked scared to death of him every time he got the ball.

Vitinho had a similar effect when he replaced Costelloe - that sub was too late.

Very pleased we have players like him.

Thought he did well considering. Ideally needs to go to the byline a time or two rather than always cutting inside. Plenty of time.

Thought the lad done well. Looks to have that Xfactor about him.

A’amari bell is a quick strong player and he breezed past him down the line. After that he was always double marked so looks like he had Luton worried aswell.

Our tempo changed when he came on anyway

We were up close and personal today in the 100 club seats in the front row. Benson is going to be one hell of a player for us, his touch is fantastic and their defence was petrified every time he got the ball. Just needs a little more time to know the system and his team mates.

Goes both ways and turns on a swivel with a really low centre of gravity and running style - not to mention comfortably two footed

There’s little point in comparing him with a Premier League player. I thought he did well today for a first appearance 48 hours after signing, but no one can make a judgement on how influential he’ll be for the rest of the season based on 45 minutes.

Difference being in the Prem you’ll get one of those chances in a game, in the right system in the Championship you’ll get 3/4. Especially with the amount of possession we have.

We just desperately need quality in the final third, he didn't really offer that today. He looked lively though, direct and quick but I'm a man who likes end product not just running past a man.

People on here are getting giddy at seeing a player run fast, I've seen it all before, I want deadly end product. Great you beat a man, worked it into the box on your left foot, now pass it into the corner and we win 2-1, he smacks it over the bar, the other same position he dilly dallies then smacks it against the defender.

He's certainly not 17 year old Nathan Dyer just yet.

You have lower standards than me if you think he was excellent, that's all.

You see a player running fast and beating a couple of players.

I see a poor right footed cross, an overhit left footed cross (that led to the corner), then from the corner a really really poor left footed cross, a great chance in the box on his left foot he hit over the bar, similar chance he took way too long and hit it at the defender.

I think ''He looked lively but didn't offer much end product'' is a fair reflection of his performance.

I also think my comment ''that extra quality is key, hopefully he develops and produces more with time.'' shows I'm not writing him off after 45 minutes.

But as others have said it’s difficult to have an end product when you’ve just got (a fairly immobile) Barnes to aim for. I was a bit disappointed we didn’t get more players into the box when our wingers had the ball.

Decent start for me.

I also don't disagree with you on that, I just wish we'd have spent that little extra on a player who would've taken 1 of those 2 simple chances. That extra quality is vital, I guess you get what you pay for though.

Kompany himself just said he changed the game when he came on. Put them on the back foot, changed the dynamic, created space for others to operate in. He's spot on. You are also right that his end product can improve.

They were half chances at best, certainly not simple. For the one where he missed the target the defender did a great job closing down the shooting options (or at least that’s how it looked on the big screen replay).

There’s nothing from today to suggest he doesn’t have the required quality, although you could be right, not enough to go on yet. But given you compared him to Cornet you must remember him missing similar or easier chances? There were plenty of times when it might have seemed he ‘didn’t have the right quality’ but fortunately he was on fire at the start of his Burnley career so no one questioned it. Give it at least a dozen games then make an assessment.

My assessment is taking into account his time at the club, probably not even trained with the team, even you must admit the game changed with his introduction

He was lively, bright, quick and direct, everything Bastien wasn't so he was definitely an improvement to the team going forward overall. I just get frustrated with these ten a penny wingers, the type to dribble past 4 men then smack it into the stands. I wanted end product, hopefully with more time he'll develop and add that to his game.

Thought it was a really good debut. He definitely did change the game and it was noticeable that our players were trying to get the ball to him at every opportunity. What was also noticeable was how terrified the opposition were of him such was his unpredictability.

His end product was a little disappointing but he did put a couple of good balls in. Thought he should have scored the chance but it was his good work which created it in the first place if my memory serves.

Will be good at this level, has a trick, a turn of pace and finds himself a yard to get a ball in - we just need a centre forward attacking the space!

Thought Benson had a very decent Cameo, if there is no end product week after week then people may have a point, I saw enough to suggest he can unlock defences who are camped out on the edge of their own box.

Vitinho had one great run where he sent the defender for a pie and then had a similar opportunities to do the same but didn't attack the full back. I think he'll be more comfortable on the right hand side.

Concentrate on getting something from the Watford game and I think we'll have far more options going into the midweek game against Hull.

Thought he looked really good, knew when to be direct and they were frightened of him with the ball at his feet.

It's good to have options - Bastien played well at Hudds but I didn't think his role worked today because Maatsen wasn't able to get forward anywhere near as much. With Bastien playing so narrow that left the left hand side bereft of any attacking football for us.

Disagree in the main with KBRFC on this one. The main problem was just not having enough options to hit in the box on occasions. He's essentially a replacement for Lennon and he offered much more than he would. He looks like he will never hide, and was always an outlet.

Thought a couple of his left footed crosses were genuinely good, just needed another body in the box as Barnes was on a different wavelength, which will naturally happen due to everyone getting to know each others game.
