Stinking today in his Everton debut just been subbed after 60 mins.
He’s getting absolute dogs abuse on Twitter.
Iv never rated him he offers nothing, doesn’t score, doesn’t assist.
We have had Evertons pants down getting what we got for him

There’s plenty of players like him in Leagues 1 & 2.
He’s so one footed and lightweight it’s laughable for a Premierleague player.
He offers NOTHING, and some people thought he was our best players

Poor game from him but he never found a rhythm popping up all over the field.
He’s a left winger the sooner he learns to live with that the better for him.

I find it difficult to predict how he'll do this season. He could be good there. Fringes of the England squad perhaps. But would not surprise me at all if he's on loan in the Championship come February.

Agree for the most part
He’s good at doing one thing and that’s whipping a ball in.
Nowhere near a PL player

New team.
New formation
No recognised striker on the pitch for them.
Some major doubts about managers abilities.
Was anyone really expecting him to pull up trees today, against Chelsea of all teams?

Far too early to write off his Everton career. But if he ever pulls on an England shirt I’ll be flabbergasted.

At Burnley he was afforded time, patience and the benefit of te doubt as to a certain extent he came up through the ranks, as soon as you go to a club, especially for big money those comforts disappear, he will become their scapegoat and will be shipped out or be a squad player at best.

£20m for DM, replaced for £3m for Benson on t'other wing who already looks to have more skill and ability to take a man on. Good business.

I fear for McNeil, but I did before today.
I think there is very good reason’s McNeil Snr. Told him to stay put when he wanted to leave before. He needs confidence and that will do nothing to his fragile confidence. A lot of those Everton fans can be vile about their own at the best of times: a new big money signing that so often disappears on the pitch is not going to get much encouragement.

To be fair, it wasn't that long ago you were telling anyone who would listen that Mcneil was easily worth £45m-50m.

I wish him nothing but the best for his career and hope he makes a great success of it, but we have got a fantastic deal there.
Everton are the bank that keeps on giving they will never learn.

He was awful today, no doubt. Much like he played for us last year.
He’s only ever played well from left wing. If he doesn’t play there, I fear for him.

Based on the contract length at the time, his better form etc I was saying we should demand more for him.
You probably know that but you're trying to be a smart arse.

Yes he does select the wrong option sometimes. Judgement. But he has a great left foot. Everton are not really good.

Early days it won’t be every week he faces the quality of Chelsea he scored 2 the other day, we got what we could for him & probably represents a fair price, he’ll have better games than the 1 today for sure.

He'd look a better player in a better team. Unfortunately he's in for a season like the last one with Everton. Not much possession and not much time on the ball when he does get it. Needs to at least look more interested if he wants to escape the wrath of the "Goodison faithful"

You were arguing against the experts valuation of £20m-25m for Mcneil, you said £45m-£50m.
The expert was correct again.

Expert
WW would suggest otherwise.
You're the one running around demanding the club spend big amounts on new individual players and then mocking people who suggest the club should demand top money for our own.
You're all over the place, so an expert you aren't.

Nothing like judging a new signing based on a weeks training with his new team and 60 mins on the pitch.

Pathetic that some Burnley fans are still going after McNeil. As if it wasn't enough to hound the confidence out of him when he was here, now they've got their wish and he's gone they're desperate for him to fail elsewhere. Pathetic

One of our best players of the last 50 years and still people go after him.
Unless we are promoted it’s unlikely we will see a player of his quality again any time soon

Maybe he would, maybe he’d have continued his poor form and we wouldn’t have been able to sell him.
We did right by cashing in whilst his stock was still relatively high.

McNeil is a confidence player. He done well for us overall.
He’s just looks bereft of any confidence and the poor decisions are because he is trying to play safe all the time rather than attac. ( wonder where that came from )

I completely agree with this view. A season in the championship in a footballing side would probably have done him the world of good. There’s a decent player there, we all know that, but he does for whatever reason, seem to be a confidence player.
Going to a team with supporters who have an unreasonable opinion of their team and where it should be in the league could prove to be the wrong move.
Were their fans ever going to give him a fair crack of the whip?
