On top of the rail strike tomorrow, roadworks throughout Burnley are going to cause major problems for motorists heading to the game.
Burnley Rd through Cliviger is closed for the next few weeks.
Eastern Avenue has long tailback both ways around Heasandford industrial estate due to ongoing roadworks.
There are road works at the bottom of Brunshaw Rd, near the Park View.
Brunshaw Rd at Pike Hill currently has a four way traffic control causing long tailbacks today. ( You also cannot cut through Townnley Park as there signs up on Brunshaw Rd and Todmorden Rd denying access for some reason). Hope this helps.

You may be right, just noticed them in passing. However,I doubt it would act as much of a short cut with access onto Todmorden Rd or Red Lees Rd, (depending which way you are heading), likely to be difficult.

Just be thankful it's at home if last Saturday was anything to go by it was a nightmare with the home game against swansea, the airshow & people flocking to the seaside with the heatwave I could walked the M61 M6 & M55 quicker.

Coming from the west, its usually best to go up Rossy road at Rosegrove and skirt everything (well most things)
and come down Manchester Road. Find that usually clear.

Unless theres roadworks there too...

Just to add to the misery of Eastern Avenue there is also temporary lights at the junction at the bottom of the hill at Lanehead (about 100 yards before the Eastern Ave/Casterton Ave roundabout if you're heading towards town)

i don't know what idiot schedules roadworks so close together at the same time but it caused chaos yesterday. Its made worse by the fact the temporary traffic lights are 100 metres past the widow hill traffic lights.

If they bring their black clad nutters again, then there could be a few roads closed temporarily.
