Lenny Johnrose Tribute

I'm not a fan of tributes during the game, and today is no different. Why couldn't we have read out Lenny's career statistics followed by a minute's applause before the game? Really poor from the club.

And we were on the attack and created a chance during that minutes' applause.

Had we scored it would have made it a right farce.

Poor from the club.

Very well-observed but I agree, seems so much better and more fitting to do it before the match. Not sure if his loved ones were consulted about their preference? If they were and were listened to then can't have any qualms.

Both sets of players looked like they were about to line up for a minutes silence prior to the game.

For an in game applause it went as well as it could but scandalous there wasn’t a tribute before the game.

The power of social media works so much in a positive light at times but I do think it’s something that can jumped on as something everyone wants. The tweet that went out to Pace after his death could possibly justify the decision. It was the wrong decision.

Agree these tributes should take place prior to the game.

There was a video of Lenny pre-match but tbh there wasn’t many in the ground to see it

Was expecting something to be done before kick off and Cork appeared to be saying something to the ref whilst pointing at the black armband expecting a minute of silence/applause but the ref seemed to shake his head and shrug as if to say “I know nothing about it”

Agreed, would have felt more emotional and respectful to do it before the game, rather than during play when people were distracted.

He deserved a better send off than that to be fair. Anyway I will say it one more time, Rest in Peace Lenny lad. You were taken far too young. I will raise a glass to you tonight. Gone but never forgotten.

i think it would have been better before the game, whether a minutes silence or a minutes applause. The whole ground could then have been thinking of Lenny, his contribution to football , but more importantly to mark his tragic loss. The minutes applause during the game should be supporter driven, not orchestrated (imo).
RIP Lenny.
BTW I thought Clarke Carlisle was amazing.

Couldn’t agree more
