It's absolutely beautiful. How anyone can fail to be enthused about us at the moment - I just don't know.
Okay, results don't reflect it and that's what's important - but we've been miles better than every team we've played so far.

Absolutely loved it. Some genuinely excellent football on show. It’s amazing how quickly this team has gelled and credit has to go to Kompany and staff. So much more to come as well!

Cork was very good and Benson was electric when he came on!
Excellent performances all around the team to be fair to the lads.
I think we will have to accept that we will give away a few sloppy goals playing out from the back like that, but Millwall were made to look a very poor side tonight!

Pace up front, invention and steel in midfield and already seeing the benefit of a big (ish) squad. Solid centre half and we're looking very good.

The selection headaches Kompany has all over the pitch (bar at centre back, you might say) are insane. There are so many seriously talented players who are going to be fighting for a starting berth and that’s an enviable position that we’re in, compared to the rest of this league.

Some absolutely outstanding performances tonight - Taylor, Cork, Benson, Rodriguez and probably Roberts’ best performance for us too.
Throughout the team every player is putting performances in, so good to see.

Re: It's just ******* brilliant to watch
I was really impressed with Costello when he came on. He is quick and played some intelligent balls, but more importantly he is big and doesn't get bounced off the ball like some of our players.
Two things I have noticed so far we are the smallest side I have seen so far, EFL seems to be the League of Giants. Second, the officiating standard is very inconsistent from match to match, compared with the PL - where the decisions were largely consistent across the season.
But still great to watch

I don't see it for Roberts, gets caught out being too clever and tends to hold on to the ball longer than needed...
In defense he struggles getting tight to his man and isn't particularly quick in recovery either.
Will say that it was a good pass for the second goal to put Brownhill in.
Cork for sure the unsung hero - he reads the game just excellently

Trust me Roberts is a gem!
There was another moment in second half where they countered and a ball was sprayed outwide - bloke cutinside and Roberts ended up about 3 yards off him (akin to when he played against Richarlison and got torn to shreds)

Brilliant stuff. Loving watching Jay in this side. He's a class act. As is Cork. So many options. Really exciting. Although those saying Roberts had a great game tonight must have been watching a different match to me! 3 mistakes in possession that could easily have led to goals against a better side.

Re: It's just ******* brilliant to watch
With Churlinov, Bastien, Twine, Zaroury, Benson still all to come in from not being in the starting 11. Then possibly another striker and a centre half, Maatsens return as well as Westwood. This team looks dynamite, so many ptions, I know a lot go on about monies not spent on the team from what we have recieved but it is looking like a remarkable rebuild job, yes a few loans but Vitinho is ours and has shown can more than do a job
We are going to have to deal with everyone doing a Millwall but we have that many options and permutations no team can plan for every permutation

Thought Roberts was the weak link tonight and probably the one who has to make way for Maatsen on Friday,I’d stick Vitinho in for Roberts and Maatsen on left

Quote from Millwall forum: “ They look a level above Sheff Utd and Norwich and a class apart from the rest of the C'ship. Can't see them not finishing in the top 2.”
Doing so well, so soon, with so many new players, really bodes well. I’m excited to see how good this team can become as the season progresses.
Im also pleased to keep reporting that Cork’s legs are still very much there - he’s the beating heart of that midfield!

Re: It's just ******* brilliant to watch
It must obviously be Pep’s influence on VK but we are turning into the City of the Championship. Many, including me, have said we need a striker to compliment our passing game and possession but as in the City model we are getting goals from all over the park. Yes, a tad shaky at the back but now we have found our scoring boots it’s down to just scoring more than the opposition, and that is getting better each game. I said we’d need patience for this team to gel but even I can’t believe how quickly it’s coming together. With the players to come into the team either as new or recent signings or injury returns we are starting to look scarily good. All this without Twine or Westwood, cameos so far from Churlinov, Benson etc. And the new guy Zaroury still to step on the pitch, plus hopefully a striker and a CB. Oh dear oh dear. Watch out Championship, I’ve got a sneaking suspicion this season is going to be a great ride.
One thing is becoming clear though after seeing some opposition tactics, particularly Millwall tonight, I am beginning to see why everyone in the PL hated us. Watching Burnley having all this possession but often struggling to break down packed defences and the feeling of frustration that brings makes me realise how sh!te we were in comparison to many or most teams in the PL. Don't get me wrong Dyche played us to our strengths and it worked for a long while but that didn’t make it any less drastic. Let’s face it even we got bored in the end.

Re: It's just brilliant to watch
Roberts was excellent tonight especially in the final third.
He was always available and played some lovely weighted balls behind the Millwall defence.
His work rate in getting up and down the pitch was superb.

We played really well against a big team of cloggers and thoroughly deserved to win. All the team played well and bringing Benson on for 25 minutes or so is the icing on the cake. He has pace to burn and terrifies the opposition defenders. When he gets into the box they have to be very careful.
Re: It's just brilliant to watch
Jack Cork should get mentioned in despatches...
Cullen great and his interchanging with Vitinho (we have found his position in this team) was superb...
Manuel Benson can't half switch on the afterburners, and changed the game when he came on for that little magician Tella who took some punishment in the 1st half ...
Bailey Peacock-Farrell showed class coming on for an improving Muric ... both of whom made some excellent saves...
Taylor Harwood-Bellis and Charlie Taylor imperious in central defence...
Guddy and Connor Roberts held it together well down the right...
And our talisman Jay scored another whilst showing his class...
Yes this Burnley side is "just brilliant to watch"

It’s very enjoyable football at the moment. We seem to be steadily building a bit of pressure now. Think we are going to be a force this season.
Have to give a shout out to all the players tonight including the subs they all played an important part. Hopefully get to see more of young Costello who looks to have a bit of Pace and strength about him.

Jay deserves some credit too - another poacher’s goal and clearly enjoying himself, coming off the line, getting into spaces, creating gaps for Tella. He was great tonight and like Brownhill, looks like he has been given a new lease of life by VK.

Tonight was just brilliant. So fun to be there and watch all the attacking football. Some brilliant play, lots of “very nearly” moments that could have been sublime, mixed in with some dogged defensive displays. The midfield 3 were superb.
Packed and upbeat Turf too.

After tiring Millwall out with our passing, I really think we can use the 5 sub option to our advantage and kill teams off like we did with pace and quality like with Benson tonight.
Some real talent on that pitch - not felt that this enthused to go watch us in a long time.

Re: It's just brilliant to watch
Another game gone. Another game where we have been, by far, the better side. For me, this was the best result so far this season. Stuck to the game plan and remained patient and, unbelievably, calm despite a horrible Millwall side who's only attempt to not lose this game was by kicking lumps out of us. I think the two free kicks within the first 30 seconds set the tone and, with a much stronger ref, they would have definitely ended with 10 men, probably less.
The amazing thing for me is how VK has managed to get this group of players to jell so quickly. He really must be a top, top coach and we have, somehow, managed to land a gem. There will be a few bumps along the way but we are in for an amazing journey and, over time, we will only get better.

It’s a funny thing…. Just approaching half time I was conscious of thinking to myself that even if we drew this game it would be ok because the brand of football we’re playing is so enjoyable that I don’t really mind not getting the result. Now obviously results matter, but how elating it is to just get the enjoyment

A dour encounter was sparked into life by the arrival of Belgium Under-21 winger Manuel Benson in the second half, as he teed up Vitinho for the opening goal before Jay Rodriguez slid in a second.

I'm not sure why people bother to read media match reports. Often I wonder if they've actually seen the game, or just read some stats and looked at the highlights
