Not sure on whether Beyer or Dervisoglu will have done enough in training to force a start but that would be my team although Churlinov starting is maybe unlikely.

I’m not sure we’ll get away with playing 12 either in reply to opening post

There's only 1 position in doubt surely and it's a choice between:-
Vito, Zaro, Churlinov, JBG, Benson Costelloe and hopefully Twine. What a change to have so many attacking options, several of which won't even make the bench.

If any position is under threat it has to be Jay. Although he has played brilliantly, Kompany must be chomping at the bit to get "his" players on the starting sheet.

I always felt the ideal opportunity to blood a few of the newer players was after the Bristol City game due to the two week gap.
I may be completely wrong but feel the vast majority of the squad who played at WBA will be on duty again tomorrow.

Not sure about that, Kompany spoke incredibly highly about Jay and said at this level he’s a special player to have.

Plus we need as much height in the team, otherwise we'll start conceding more freely from corners and freekicks. Every team bar ourselves and maybe Norwich likes to put the ball into the box at every opportunity.

I think it will be that except Roberts will start ahead of Lowton.
JBG won't play 90 mins but we have lots of options off the bench for that position. Looking forward to see more of our attacking players with several yet to feature much or at all.
Bastien deserves more minutes and I like the look of him in centre mid, but hard to drop Cork or Cullen given how well they've played (bar Cork in the last game who probably needed a rest).

if nobbers defend deep then it could be the perfect game for Benson again as a sub - you saw the difference he made against Millwall.

Would be surprised if he starts and presumably few, if anyone, on here knows anything about him. You'd think Tella and Rodriguez will and should start.

And also Halil Dervişoğlu, but I also think they’ll have to wait for their starts. We should have exciting options from the bench tho!

What makes you say that? Jay has scored three games on the spin and is playing well as you say. For me, one of the impressive things about VK is that he doesn't seem to have favourites. Play well, you get picked. He soon realised his mistake in dropping Cork and got him straight back in.

The need for resting players may have been negated by the Norwich postponement.
Norwich, PNE & Bristol City in just over a week could have been a tough ask for some of the squad

I don’t want to see Vitinho playing a midfield/winger role on the right. He just isn’t suited to it and we have plenty of other options who are far better suited.

It's only when you sit down to pick a suitable team that you really realise just how
many blinkin' players we have got to choose from.

You were the only person on the thread who
had Vitinho in an advanced role and I thought I would offer an opinion on that. It wasn’t a personal attack on you - whether it was your preferred team pr the team you think will start - it was just an opinion based on what you had put.
I wasn’t expecting such a defensive reaction. I won’t quote you again - apologies.

Then read your post again... the "I' don't want to see Vitinho..." bit . It comes over rather badly IMO.
He is a winger/ attacking midfielder, oh, and a full back.
i wouldn't be surprised to see him in any of these positions in the future, and unlike you I'd be quite happy with it.

No Maatsen at all. Just shows how many options we have.
Sure it will lessen as injuries occur but a bench without him, Barnes, Lowton and Zaroury tells its own story.

Muric
THB
Cork
Brownhill
Cullen
Vitinho
JRod
Tella

That's a cracking lineup for Tuesday imo. Preston would wonder what on earth to do with that.
Not sure it will come to fruition though, sadly for me.

It's understandable that people want to see the new recruits but it amuses me that a lot of posters seem to assume that the continental signings are automatically going to be better than what we had before. I hope they are but don't throw out Jay and JBG with the bathwater. Both have been very good recently and have done nothing to merit being dropped. Whereas Churlinov certainly hasn't done enough to force his way in yet but seems to be a popular selection.

Yeah that one? I don't see your point? He was lethal going forwards down the left side, and murdered Darikwa for his pull back to Brownhill for our second.
Don't think one poster on this thread has suggested playing him on the right?

More of a left winger he was that advanced, like the Maatsen role.
