What plans do people have for Monday
As I'm now not required to work I'll be enjoying the good weather and taking a stroll in the local park, not much else to do seen as everywhere is closed, what are others planning to do with their additional public holiday?, and yes I am aware some will still be working.

Re: What plans do people have for Monday
Go and hit some golf balls in the morning and I've got my Covid booster in the afternoon.
I might watch a bit of the funeral but TBH there's already been so much coverage on TV that it's losing some of the impact of what is a massive historical event.

Im travelling down to London Sunday night as I just want to be as close to her as I possibly can when the time comes to say our last farewells. If I could have got the time off work I would be down there now in that glorious 5 mile queue to have the chance to pay my last respects in person Whats a 14 hour wait when the queen has spent the last 70 years serving us so wonderfully.

Gym in the morning as usual and them back to watch the funeral. I would have liked to have gone and pay my respects to a wonderful Queen who devoted her whole life to her people, unfortunately my legs and body could not have coped with the standing, queuing and long walk.

I'll watch the funeral, it is a once in a lifetime occasion and it just seems right and respectful to do so.

Wife is a huge fan of Queen Elizabeth II and wants to do this once in a lifetime homage to her, so i'll be there with her.
I wasn't a huge Royalist in younger days but the late Queen's dedication to the pledge she made to the nation deserves the utmost respect.

Paperwork and then finish reading “A Woman of Colour.” A two hundred year old ‘re-found’ novel of unknown author. It’s about the daughter of a Jamaican plantation owner and his former slave wife, who has to resettle in late eighteenth century Britain.
Despite being lost its a real page turner, and I’m looking forward to seeing where it goes..’ I love the first read.

Will watch from Albufeira where on holiday. Fond memories of meeting Her Majesty and Prince Philip 25 years ago whilst on duty overseas. We’ve total respect for her dedicated service over so many years.

Re: What plans do people have for Monday
Solitary stuff for once. Maybe catch a couple of nice mullet over in the bay early doors, a long coastal walk with my panting labrador, then feet up in my favourite armchair re-reading a Graham Greene novel of faraway places.
Anything to avoid the orchestrated mass grieving and the now monotonous repetitive TV coverage.
A brief nod though, to the passing of the old girl, and best wishes to the (not very) new broom.
