A very historical day as Englands longest reigning monarch is laid to rest. We are living through a very historical day at the end of the Elizabethan era. God bless the Queen. God save the King.

Don’t sit in the house all day watching the television, get outside and enjoy the fresh air with the family. It’ll be a more memorable day in years to come. With the world of social media, 24 hour rolling news and catch up TV, you’re not going to miss anything.

Feel very sorry for all of you in the UK, having been bombarded by this stuff continually for the last 10 days. Apparently, even the radio played wrist slashing songs. Time for you to consider becoming a Republic like France. Here I can shop today and watch some decent television.
But the good news is tomorrow Rogers is gone (they did not want to announce today) and Dyche will take over.

I think most will do both - the Funeral is expected to be an hour long from 11-12, I’m sure most will watch it to show respect and see the spectacle (hope that didn’t sound offensive) and then get outside or whatever else.
I will be taking the dog on a long walk after the funeral and then lunch, and will then cut the grass.

Agreed. I'm not a great monarchist (though completely respect/admire the late Queen as a great lady) but will watch some of the funeral coverage 11-12 for the spectacle and significance. Otherwise i'ts still warm/dry enough out there to have a decent walk without too much outer outer clothing & it'll be fairly quiet out in the lanes/parks I think.

Hope those to whom it has meaning, for whatever reason, get what it is they want/need from today.
For me it's just another day, but one day nearer a return to some kind of normality.
A rare look at my fb newsfeed suggests the vast majority of my "" friends"" are as interested in the whole performance as I am.

People who are not interested can turn the television off or select a channel not showing the news,it is quite simple to do.

I don't like sombre occasions, my sister onthe other hand, loves a good funeral, I wonder if she will enjoy her own

I won't watch, I have other interests.

We do, it can't be denied. Definitely gives us a certain amount of soft power. I would trade it for something tangible that matters like a strong, functioning welfare state in heartbeat though.

Yeah, difficult & stressful that must've been. Huge sigh of relief when they delivered it to the gun carriage.

Don’t feel sorry for me. I haven’t been bombarded with any “stuff” for the last ten days. I have been busy watching and listening to a nation mourn, and show its respect to someone who undoubtedly earned it. I felt proud doing so. I feel proud today watching it.
I will never consider becoming a republic like France. I wouldn’t want to be.
I have spent an hour or two of my life watching the world say farewell to HM Queen Elizabeth II. I will now go about my business. Not being able to go shopping today is no hardship. If I need to shop, I’ll go tomorrow, or the day after. I will have missed nothing today that couldn’t have been put off for a day or two. I have missed nor will I miss any television today. It’s still there waiting for me. The last ten days that have been dedicated to the memory of Her Majesty have been a pleasure (if that’s an acceptable word to use in these circumstances) to be a part of really when you consider the service we have been given by our late Queen.

I was planning to work but a change of schedule allowed for a lovely walk this morning. Saw some deer, a squirrel and a stoat. A bit damp out but better than working.
Not sure if I'll watch later on iPlayer, there's another Gone Fishing I need to see first.
