Lancs won toss and are batting, both these sides can in theory still win the title, but in reality it's between Hampshire and Surrey.
George Bell comes in as wicket keeper, the rest as you'd expect for Lancs.

Hmm! not going too well for Lancs thus far 58-3 after 21, Bohannon, Jennings and wells the men out, Croft and Vilas currently at the crease.

VIlas was also out and it became 58-4, now and Croft and Bell have moved us along to 69-4.

71 for 5 - don’t know what Croft was trying to do. All looking a bit like end of season stuff to me.

83-6 Balderson falling on the stroke of lunch, definitely seem to be nursing a hangover from the Kent defeat.

Did well to get 131, and the one hope for Lancs is it is spinning aplenty, as it often does at Chelmsford.

An early scalp for Bailey striking with his 3rd delivery.

7-2 Williams strikes, maybe 131 isn't as low a total as it seemed.

Our batting does have a habit of capitulating, although to be fair, we do have Essex at 36-4.

Blimey- just catching up with score in this Lancs game and note that it's Pakistan v England T20 starting in at 15.30; I'd forgotten all about that!
Moeen captain just won the toss and will bowl first and chase later. Alex Hales finally back in the team.
Come on England.

Looks like the ECB want Surrey to win it. Out of the England team that played South Africa recently, only Pope and Foakes have been allowed to play in this round of games. Both play for Surrey!

Pope has saved the Surrey innings as well with his sublime ton.

Good grief Lancs 2-3 2nd dig, lead of 26, this is becoming a farce now, and the game at Hampshire isn't much better, Kent 165 all out, Hampshire 54-8.

Getting silly now. Will the pitch inspectors be paying a visit to Essex, 24 wickets in the day suggests they should.

5-5

Rund caught up with wickets at 4-4. Then fell behind again, 4-5.
Maybe they should declare now to get the use of the wicket again? The lead is 30.
And don't get the pitch inspectors involved - they will deduct points from Lancashire, regardless of where the match is played!

I remember Lancashire once got points deducted for a wicket where the opponents made 200 twice and Neil Fairbrother got a double century in Lancashire's only innings of 400+.
Bet Essex don't lose anything.

Hampshire 57 all out, so it's not just Chelmsford where the wickets are tumbling.

26 wickets in the day and 12 were lbw, including 3 in 4 balls by Snater in Lancs second innings ---my mate in CHelmsford reckons that Snater's dad was umpiring! He also reckons that the pitch inspectors need to have a look.

Nelson under 15's bowled Whalley out for 9 in the early '90's so there's a good chance they may have been 7/6 at some stage.

Lancashire claimed 5 lbw of the 12
Kettleborough and David Millns the umpires
Both well respected
Obviously the wicket has to be inspected as it was not fit for 4 day game

Essex 28-2, no 28-3 after 9.3 overs.
28-4 9.4 overs.
Hat trick for Balderson?
