Could be a number of things.
1. Football team (unlikely)
2. BFC finances (again unlikely)
3. Anti government comment

But is it political to point to facts in history? The previous two attempts to prop up the economy with huge tax breaks both heralded a deep recession (if indeed that is the reference). Thinking outside of the box can be a good thing, but it is perhaps sensible to look at the warnings written on the box, too.

Am I right in thinking you are a moderator? If so and this is indeed a political thread please can you confirm that it's now fine to have political threads on this messageboard.

We cannot be sure it is a political thread. There is clearly a danger that the thread will have to pulled, depending on where it goes; but for now I would think it sensible to await clarification from Lancaster, if any is forthcoming. When does news become political? PARTY political is certainly more than frowned upon by the moderators.

There's been plenty of political discussions on this board over the last 6 months and from what I can see provided the discussions stay sensible and on topic the mods seem ok to let them go.
I reckon most of the hassle they get are people complaining about these threads for the sake of complaining and probably partly because the discussions might be a little uncomfortable for them knowing what they have backed and supported for the last 6 years

News becomes political when it's about politics and government announcements. It remains to be seen if that's what this thread is about but it seems pretty obvious to me.

It isn't a political thread
Its an economic one
But perfectly happy for it to be pulled
Lets be honest, we've all got a bit of a tough few months ahead of us and people having a go at me for being right isn't helping anyone

Pound has been going for a while… as has the Euro, and basically everything else pegged against the US Dollar. Look at the Japenese Yen vs USD, now that is something. It’s mainly a USD move than anything.

Basically yes!
But you need to form your own opinion as well, so you read stuff you don't necessarily agree with as well
I stay well clear of stuff that I don't know anything about on here because people who know what they are talking about are very obvious
Essentially, listen to experts, not fruit loops pretending to be experts

If you don't know about a subject how do you know who are the experts and the fruit loops.
Look at the club finances threads on here, there are some who post a lot on those with no idea what they are talking about and to some they will come across as informed rather than clueless.

A friend of a friend works at an investment bank (developing algorithms for HFT). He was saying this is an amazing budget for him, reckons it could be worth £20-30k or so extra in the pocket.

Yes, I get that
But if you read about stuff, then the more you read, the more you realise who are the fruit loops and who are people who know what they are talking about
My foe list on here isn't people who disagree with me or even people who give me s**t, its people who haven't a scooby doo about what they talk about for example
But I get that reading stuff that is essentially boring isn't what everyone wants to do!

Stop complaining, I am in a worse position
As an EU employee, my tax rate is 8% (I don't pay national income tax) plus 4% pension contribution.
Because EU salaries are indexed linked I only got 3.5% raise in June and only looking at 7% pay rise in November
My performance bonus is only 17% this year (tax-exempt) and my salary increment was reduced to 3000 euros
The free travel to the UK for conferences (and Burnley matches) has now to be signed off by my director.
Probably have to spend winter in the Corsica office to save on energy bills.
I have a sh*t life

He's not an expert though is he?
He has very strong ideas about the economy, and how to grow it, but nothing to suggest he's an expert on it
The majority of experts don't agree with him, and even those that share some of his views look at the current ecomomic situation and and are saying
"This is a huge gamble"
