Curb your enthusiasm

I'd seen this show very intermittently on the SKY channels now and again, but since getting Netflix on a temporary basis, I've been able to watch if from the very beginning.

I didn't realise it had been going as long as it had, but I have to say it's a work of genius! Larry David sure is an annoyingly clever guy.

Anyone else had the pleasure, or is it "too American" to be appreciated over here?

I think it’s one of the best tv series ever made, and Larry David is undoubtedly one of the greatest comic minds of recent times. Everyone loves an anti-hero.

Up there with Fawlty Towers and The Office as one of the best sitcoms ever made, in fact it could be ahead of those two imho.

Brilliant, and other than season 9 consistently so.

Up there with The Office (US) and Always Sunny

I got into it from about season 2 and its always been my favourite modern comedy. I think the last couple of series have been pretty poor and almost a parody of itself but series 1-8 are all brilliant.

Wanda has to be one of the best characters ever and the scene around Larry looking at her ass is brilliant as is the scenes where Larry and Leon accidently swap phones

Hug huge fan!

Didn't realise the were on Netflix, have them all on DVD (proper old school)

Been working my way through all of Seinfeld, that's been incredibly enjoyable.

Loved it ever since it came out. Originally they used to show it on channel 4 but it was always on at ridiculously late times (partly no doubt because of its frequent use of the c word !!)

I’ve also got the box set of the first 10 series on dvd - though I don’t have a DVD player now !!

Up there with one of my favourite pieces of comedy of all time.

I do think if it was put on one of our main channels at a half decent time then a lot of people in this country would love it and appreciate how much of a genius Larry David is.

Anyone who wants to buy my dvds feel free to make me an offer !!

I love Curb and have done from quite early on.

Agree with DA that the last couple of series haven't been as good. Funkhauser was a big loss. Also agree with Wanda being a brilliant character. Krazee Eyez Killa is a particularly favourite episode but there are some corkers. The Car Pool Lane is another favourite.

Those are the two full episodes I'd class as my favourites too.

Are you not in UK as it’s on Netflix here

Yes I am in UK, but as I thought I'd explained, I've only recently acquired Netflix.

It sounds like you're trying to create a Larry David scenario.

“If Begin can break bread with Arafat, then I can eat some chicken at this anti-semitic sh!thole.”
Funkhauser cracks me up every time.

It isn’t? I just switched my VPN to the US and it doesn’t come up.

It’s on HBO Max

It is definitely not in the Netflix UK catalogue. I just had a look, as this poorly informed post got my hopes up only to dash them. It's apparently on Now TV, so maybe you mean that.

It’s not on Netflix in the UK (although Seinfeld is), but all series of Curb are on NOWTV. Or if you’re like me, you can watch it on a DVD box set (how very novel!).

Personally my favourite series is when he is in the Producers on Broadway with David Schwimmer. I do think it’s not quite as good as it used to be these days but it’s still class.

Strange how I can get it. I don't have NOW TV.

Anyway, I'm not arguing, as I do enough of that on here, and promised myself I'd stop.

Hope you find the show like I did. Enjoy!

Yeah I’m not properly having a go, I just had my hopes up for a minute. I’d get Nowtv but I already have Netflix and Amazon prime, and the number of subscription services is getting ridiculous

It is a brilliant programme. Not having a go but i don't know how you are managing to watch it on Netflix. It's a HBO programme so it is only Sky who have the rights to show in the UK. All episodes are available on Sky Comedy.

It’s not on Netflix UK.
If you are getting it on Netflix then there can only be some VPN thing going on where you are getting a different region to the UK.
It is on the the Comedy Channel on Sky which is one of the channels you get with their basic Signature package.

It’s not on Netflix anywhere in the world , other than the op’s home

Moving away from the is it/isn't it on Netflix argument, this thread has prompted me to dig back into some early series. Brilliant stuff, I think series 3 is probably my favourite. Some classic episodes.

All series are available on demand on Sky btw.

Well it's all a matter of taste but I'd rather watch reruns of Alan shearer's 50 best rovers goals.

Sutton's would be pushing it, mind.
