20 mins away from lineups being announced.
Hoping we can put in a decent performance and get out of conceding the late goal.
Will post the line up when announced

Roberts on bench and Vitinho at right back too by looks of it.
Zaroury on right instead of Benson

Are we now going down the Eddie Howe route of "sod the defending" just score more goals than the opposition?

Not happy with Taylor being left out twice on the spin - that means VK and team see him as our third choice centre half and not seen as a fullback - even in rotation.
With the rotation I thought Bastien may have come in for Cork but not in this instance.
Think we may have a few tweaks in the system today.

If Muric is struggling with an injury best to rest it

Fairly injury prone is Muric.

That’s an interesting team.
I’m predicting we might see the first 4-4-2 / 4-2-2-2 of the season with that.
Zaroury / Brownhill tucking narrow from the wide positions and Vitinho + Maatsen providing width. Tella and Jay up top.

Certainly seems so, particularly when he injurs himself!!!

You might be right but I don’t think Vitinho will play the Roberts role in the build up as it doesn’t suit his attributes. He’s quite attack minded so I’ve guessed it’ll be a tweak to the normal system. Could be wrong though.

Some big calls made by Kompany with that selection, I can see goals in that line-up, mind you we'll probably need to bag a few as I can't see us keeping a clean sheet today.

Our defence is more attacking than our midfield.
Attack is the best form of defence they say, and we do need to start winning games.

Even with rotation it usually means one game in, one game out and then back in
Taylor is mom in his last appearance and then rested from next two - very strange

Maatsen is a good player, but imo he's not a great defender. He was given an unholy run around at WBA by the excellent Jed Wallace and that wasn't his only one. He's fine when we have the ball and especially when we're in the opposition half, but on an away game in particular it's a huge gamble picking him at LB after what we've seen so far. Taylor has to be a far better option (imo)

At least wait until kickoff before killing the thread with the negatives.

Roberts obviously punished by upsetting the formation and having the temerity to get in the opposition box and score. Naughty boy
Barnes on the bench if todays plan A does not work

Agree. I think this is just the base setup. I think both full backs will be very high up, with Cork and Cullen covering either side. And Tella will push higher up to JRod, almost pulling Zaroury more central into a pseudo 10 position, closer to Brownhill

Or it could be that he’s been partly culpable for some of the goals we’ve conceded.

Seems a bit strange to drop Roberts for an attacker three days after Roberts scored our only goal. And I'm quite surprised he hasn't put Taylor in at left back to keep the balance. But we'll win 0-5 anyway so not too worried.

A lot of comments about squad changes ... I would trust in our manager who sees people in training (and don't forget irs our 3rd match in 8 days) so he will know best.

If he’s not injured Dervisoglu can’t be doing much in training if he’s not replacing Barnes on the bench. Surely he must be a better option.

Would have liked to see Bastien in rather than Zaroury, like the looks of Bastien and lets us try 4222, 4321 or 4231. Shame about Muric.
Odd that Taylor is so out especially as you'd think he could play the tucked fullback roll on the left. Oh well.
No huge complaints about the team just intrigued how it will set up.

Very strange. Presume Kompany hasn't been too impressed with him if Barnes is considered a better attacking option (not that they're the same sort of player of course).
