Clarets Foundation.

I needed to talk to someone about my membership.
Been paying for many a year and currently don't have any means of proving I am a member.
So rang the Club to be told "the person" is on holiday and can't help me.
Unbelievable.

I think that there is only 1 person in the Foundation 'team'

Didn't need to, had no reason to, I was happy to pay in.
Now found out that there are discounts available and priority match tickets as part of the deal.
So now I do need some form of membership card.

She is normally around on match days.

Re match tickets this is done by calling the foundation office on release day , I don’t have to prove I am a foundation member as I assume they check my clarets which they ask for against their foundation list
On discounts for the shop and fanzone I called at the office on the way into the fanzone on a match day and picked up a discount card , I think if you are a season ticket holder that again can be checked against the foundation memeber list

They should at least ensure that everyone, who is still paying for the foundation, receives a card. It’s the least they should do.
A lot of people have put a fair old combined wedge into the coffers through foundation membership, over all the years it’s been running.
The purpose it originally, supposedly served, disappeared as a need many moons ago. Perhaps there is a need nowadays with all of the debt.
I’m not sure that the offering merits the cost these days, particularly as it’s not really changed and the original purpose of the foundation is a thing of the past.

The offering has changed quite a bit.
Due to their being no Foundation Lounge you get, I think 20% discount off drinks in the fanzone, and 10% discount in the Club Shop. That was all new for this season. Also entered into prize draws, plus the opportunity to get tickets particularly for away games which was always the case.
I’m quite happy to pay.

Did you receive a letter at the start of the season, July/August, explaining the changes to the foundation benefits? I've had a Claret number for a number of seasons that shows I'm a Foundation member. I guess there's a card somewhere in my files...
Good luck.

We stopped it a good few seasons back, now. I didn’t realise that the foundation lounge was no more.
I’d pay a membership fee for the business lounge in the Bob Lord, if they ever saw fit to use it as a limited numbers members bar on match days.
I thought we might see an option to pay for WiFi at the ground - I think it was a question on the survey not long after Pace took over. The signal on match days is terrible for checking scores etc.

Is that the survey which died a death as I don't recall seeing any results from it or positive actions which have come from it!

I came out of the foundation, I was in from the start and for years but found I was just a number a cash cow. Anyway it served its purpose, helped the club and put the foundations in place for what we achieved.

I thought they took away the priority ticket offer or made it less of a priority

I am 1 of the original members of the foundation. When launched I am pretty sure it was limited to 1200 members. Getting match day away tickets for me was a priority, being based in Ruislip west london then ( now Dorset), I have never amassed enough loyalty points to get tickets. There used to be three members of staff if I remember rightly but now there is just the one lady answering the phone. About 3 years ago they tried to contact me re membership, the letter never arrived, and they couldnt get through call gaurdian on my phone. So they cancelled my membership. I did manage to get it reinstated it but my membership number changed along with my draw numbers. I was not a happy boy. But i carry on paying my £104 / year, but Im not sure why

I am one of the remaining shareholders. I used to get away ticket priority. I must get a free posh seat now!
Possibly sat next to King Claret III

Is there a Q & A night for Foundation members coming up with Glen Little?

I have been a foundation member since the beginning. I have won a couple of times on the draw, but not received any letters about change of conditions. We used the Jimmy Mac lounge a couple of times at the start but aware this has now ended.
Will contact them as didn't know I got a discount in the fanzone and shop. I have poured small fortunes into all 3 (fanzone, clubshop and foundation) UTC.

It was last Thursday with Glen Little and Andy Peyton (replacing Robbie Blake who had to drop out because of football commitments with Bognor Regis). Really enjoyed it!

Are there anymore events planned?
How do you find out about these?
