Doubt we'd see Barnes starting again, no where near good enough. But hey ho. Striker in January.
Dervisoglu on the bench bodes well for my prediction of him scoring in the derby.

I’d rather have me up front today than Barnes. And I have flu.

Is this a 4-4-2? Possibly enforced by Cork and Jay needing a rest.

Surprised neither Beyer or Maatsen feature.

Still no Maatsen and Beyer is disappointing, huge losses at the back. Looking forward to another 1-1!

The schedule of matches is punishing, which seems to be contributing to the number of knocks we’re picking up, so roatating the squad is something that must be done.

Go Barnesy. Prove them all wrong.
Peacock-Farell would be better for me too! Muric not very good and kicking not much of a bonus.

Cork and Jay on the bench is a surprise, but given the volume of games I guess both will need to be managed sensibly.

You've started early with the negativity Ian - can we kick off first?

Ashley Barnes is done a a footballer ! He can’t run. I hope I’m wrong and he scores today but he’s been about as useful as a chocolate fireguard the last 2 seasons

Not to worry. Barnes will get the first of his 20 goals this season today.

I hope I’m eating my words come 5 o’clock but that starting eleven is a bit suspect.

Yous say that's the weakest XI we've named thus season but it's still a very respectable Championship outfit. You'd fear for that team in the air though. Presume it starts 4231 withJBG at 10 per the switch at Birmingham but it could be a variation on 442/4222.
Be interesting to see how Barnes goes in a team with the pace to get beyond him. Didn't have that option in his earlier starts this season but its often brought out the best in him historically.

I see BPF as a positive. Also ok for Barnes. I would play Barnes and Rodriguez!

I think Barnes knows he needs to deliver because time is running out for him at this level , I hope he scores a hat trick now or help's the team to win , also hope Brownhill can have a good game in midfield.

Maatsen and Beyer still out. Looks like VK is giving Cork and Jay a rest, due to the number of games.

Need a good performance from Brownhill today. I rate him but unconvinced he can play in a midfield two. Harsh perhaps because he's only mostly had the chance to do that for us in the Premier League against obviously better players.

About as weak a team we can put out really hope the mackems are a poor outfit or we could be up against it, really don't get why Bastien isn't getting a sniff thought brownhills form has dipped the last few games after the standards he had hit, hope I'm wrong but doesn't fill me with confidence when I see Roberts, Taylor and muric in the same starting 11.

Don’t think either Jay or Cork can play 3 games in a week and We need our best team v Norwich

Massive drop in class between a Premier League midfield and Championship. Huge. And he has better players ahead of him than we had in the Premier League.

I thought I'd seen him on the bench before, but I'll take your word for it. Interesting it's instead of Long, unless Long is out for some reason.

Roberts at left back ? Pity our best LB is stuck in the wholly unsuitable CB role . It’s an odd looking line up with JBG in deep mid. Presume Jay/Cork getting a break and no Maetsen/Benson either . We have enough here but maybe only just .

Roberts at right back. Vitinho left back.

And I can't see JBG deep mid. 4-2-3-1.

Strange selection and doesn't look strong enough imo, but we'll see. I know VK is being hampered by niggling injuries and also fixtures coming thick and fast so let's hope he's called it right come 5.00!

2 players out and games coming quick, hence the need for changes. I wouldn't class it as strange.

WE seem to be suffering from a number of minor injuries, disrupting our continuity in line up, and still no news on Twine. May be a surprise Bastien does not get a start in view of this-particularly if Josh is going to play deeper with Cork out. Bastiem in my opinion can count himself unfortunate with the amount of minutes he has played

Yes! Although it looks 4-2-3-1 with Barnes up top.
But I can't believe how many people are so negative. As you say, get behind the team!
