Similar comments from opposition fans after every game this season, and they're right.

Reading have a few wiley vets that have played a lot of matches - they will make it tough for us but we should be beating them

Rotherham should be a walk in the park

Didn't see Blackpool or Hull or Luton either as tests.

Not sure that I buy into all this ‘best side in the division’ malarkey. Ultimately, the table doesn’t lie and the ‘best’ team is the one in 1st place come the end of the season!

If we are to be the ‘best’ team in this division, we have to prove it week in week out and finish 1st leaving absolutely no doubt!

But you know that makes no sense, right? As other clubs have supported teams in other leagues.

Just read this on not606...... made me chuckle: "Young small side comes up against a big team in the league who have physical players and gets smashed."

it's not just us delusional then - we're a big team??

Alastair Campbell quoted Jamie Hoyland as saying "best team in the league by a mile, only now they need to go out and prove it." Hoyland is not wrong.... you don't have to be top at this stage, everyone can see the potential we have, it just hasn't fully materialized yet

Big lesson for us fans and for VK today....

I’m not so sure midweek will be a test. Norwich are more hype than ability this season and seem to be living on the yo-yo club past glories. Bad start to the season then a bit of a purple patch then poor for weeks now. We are the test now, for anyone in this league. Norwich will be seeing us as the test, not the other way around.

Get your point but that is a slightly simplistic way of viewing it. 2 teams are above us by 1 point and we have played a game less than one. We have a far superior goal difference to either and we have lost one game (and that wasn’t a bad performance at all). You are right, at the end of the season the table doesn’t lie but there are other factors in play just now, such as who teams have played and performances in general.
City are not currently top of the PL but does anyone doubt they are probably the best club side in the world?

Sunderland fans I know couldn't believe they were 2-0 up.
They expected to get hammered from the start, told me they had no strikers and were also without there best winger.

No easy matches in this league, and Rotherham on a wet and windy Wednesday night will be no exception.
We'll most likely play better against teams like Swansea and Sunderland who try to play a bit of football than against tough uncompromising teams near the bottom of the league, who come to stop us playing football and rough us up a bit.
(Reading are decent anyway and could easily be in the play-off positions when we play them.)

Keegans Man City team back in 2001/02 were the best team by a mile. Took them a while to go out and prove it (after the new year)

Although I wouldn't put us anywhere near that City teams level.

The man who's had more usernames than Downing Street has had prime ministers in the past few years.

We keep doing it. It doesn't matter what we do, but we get people who tell us ANY team will be the most difficult side. Swansea were the most difficult.

Well, there are people on here who'll think we'll have an easy game against Rotherham (amongst others).

I thought that when Jimmy Mullen was in charge.
