Can we better 93 points

That's the total we've garnered during our past 2 seasons at this level but if we carry on as we have in recent weeks we might well eclipse that figure come May.

Reading won this league with 106 points, so if we drop 14 more points then you have to consider this season a failure.

89.44 is what we are currently on for, but with a decent January window (can see 3 new players) and continuing to not draw games we should be winning, then I don't see why we can't better 93.

According to another thread tonight, we will get 97 points and finish second. He/she also predicts Blackburn will be champions with 99.

The real question is will Kompany beat the record of only 5 losses at this level the last two times we've played here under Dyche

It’s a crazy league this season so you’d be brave to make a prediction.
We’re eighteen games into the season and the second place side have lost as many as West Brom who are bottom.

And the 2nd placed side haven't drawn a game, winning 11 the highest in the division. What a difference three points makes.

This is where we really stand out having only lost 1 of our 18 games, be a mighty impressive feat if Kompany could beat Dyche's record, but on current form it can't be ruled out.

The reason why we're top is that of the other teams, they've all lost 5 games or more with the exception of Luton & Sheffield United, who've both lost four ... In true " anyone can beat anyone " tradition, Watford lie in 5th on 28 points, whilst with only 11 points fewer, Coventry occupy the last relegation spot ..
As ever, it's going to be a right old scrap ....

If there’s two better sides in the league they will finish top two! Let’s see where we are after the next 3, win those and I think we will be on to win the league

It’s great when people say anyone can beat anyone in this division. I think losing one game in the first 18 suggests that is not really the case. Only the poorest teams win and then lose all the time without drawing games. It shows they lack the strong jaw to dig out points when they can’t win a game. That’s the difference between a championship
team and one destined for the premier league.

That’s an interesting stat. The bottom team have drawn just as many at the team that top and lost the same amount of games as the team in second.
Bizarrely I think WBA are the only team we’ve played so far this season where I thought they were better than us.

Is there anywhere I can find the championship league table at this time last year? Just interested to see how close the league this time last year.

Believe me, there’s nothing I’d like more than to surpass that points total, I just don’t think we will.
This team is still fantastic for the most part, though.

Before I think about beating 93 points, I want us to beat the 23 undefeated. We are on 16 aren’t we?

If only someone could create an Excel Spreadsheet programme that could predict the outcome of the Championship based on current form
Oh there is and the programme still doesn't think BFC will win it

I’m not sure how any team that loses 7 games before October is out can legitimately call itself a promotion contender tbh. We lost ten games in our last two full championship seasons which was what it took to be promoted. Anyhow it’s going to be funny watching them blow up and finish mid table like they did last year aided by a nice turf moor stuffing in 2 weeks.

Where would you put three new players in January?
I think we will keep the powder dry until summer and if we know if we’re up.
