"Not Fade Away". First heard it on Radio Lux . Had to buy "Chirping Crickets".

They looked like me not som Greek god, and everything was down to the words and music.

That's a relief. I thought this was going to be another "RIP" thread.

Love Buddy Holly, some great recordings already mentioned.

Buddy Holly, like Hendrix, was way ahead of his time. A brilliant talent who would have gone on to great heights but for that one fateful decision in 1959 - the day the music died.

I saw the Buddy musical 3 Times late 90s. The first half was the story of how he came to fame, the second half was the fateful concert before the flight. So many great songs in a career that lasted less than 2 years. Like others, Rave On a personal favourite.

Reading this post tonight I decided to watch"The Buddy Holly story full film HQ Columbia" as posted upthread way ahead of his time.
