Apologies if this has been done before but got the tune stuck in my head this morning.
To the tune of Yellow Submarine by the Beatles.
In the town where I was born, came a man from Man City and he told of of his plan and his name was Kompany.
Football's good under Vincent Kompany - Vincent Kompany
Burnley's great under Vincent Kompany - Vincent Kompany - Vincent Kompany
So he showed us how to play, full of pace & trickery
In a style that's hard to stop, heading for the Premier League
Footballs good under Vincent Kompany - Vincent Kompany - Vincent Kompany.
Were going up under Vincent Kompany - Vincent Kompany - Vincent Kompany

What's the sudden urge for people to make up football songs, it's all over social media
Most of them are cr@p and will never see the light of day
How on earth did we manage the come up with chants years ago, ones which have stood the test of time, and didn't need social media to get them going......

Not normally a fan of new songs on here. But think this is a good one. Mind you I'm old and a Beatles fan.

Because our current selection is awful and has been for years. Each game has multiple NNN renditions, singing about them down the road at each opportunity and the songs that actually support the team are incoherent because they’re sang that fast. So any new song is welcome and the fact there are so many wanting to make up new songs, might be finally a recognition of our poor song selection.

Sung to the tune of the yellow submarine, another beatles classic!

The trouble is, some of the new songs have to change the name of our players to make the song work... We don't have a player called Vitinio....

Brazilian players have always been pronounced this way by English fans.
Ronaldinho
Coutinho
Fernandinho

He comes from Belgium - the flight is less than an hour and half. 'Far away' makes us look like a bunch of small-town hicks. I'd have;
'in the town where I was born, came a man of victory'.

Honestly Nori I was umming and arrring over whether to reply to this but come on man, if you're not interested in something, you can just move on - you don't have to post so negatively all the time. Being a right downer on some posts recently, it's just a bit of fun.

And he's taking Burnley back to the Premier League.

When I first started going on t'Turf in the mid/late 60's we had new fangled contraptions called radios.
Then silly little radio stations like Caroline and Luxembourg started playing catchy tunes which football fans around the country made up their own words to.
Lo and behold, the popular football chants were born.

(Not true really, I made it all up).

I remember in the 70s someone handing out song sheets on the Longside with No Nay Never on one side (full verses and chorus) and Walking in a Winter Wonderland on the other (the crass song about Man Utd and the Munich disaster).
Song sheets would work but can't see anyone bothering this day and age

Well now we have the big screens and the LED lighting streaming round the stands all game. Surely we could get the words on there?
We could even have the little dot bouncing over the words so we get the tempo right!

I referenced this a year or so ago - and don’t recall anyone remembering it. Thanks Claret - I thought I must have dreamt it. I remember it with a full range of songs. Great idea at the time. Of course now it could be done far more easily.

Suburb of Brussels.
I don't like the beatles, but did like men at work. And while I occasionally post these things to take the p, this one might actually work and isn't just nicking a man u or scouse song....
Our new man, he come from brussels
Six foot four and full of muscles
We said: Do you coach the dyche way?
He just smiled and showed us how to play.
We've gone to the league down under
Where preston fail and bastuds blunder
When you hear the clarets thunder
You better run, you better take cover.

I would guess the modern pop song singing stuff emerged in the early 60s with the Merseybeat stuff. There are some Youtube videos of Liverpool fans singing She loves you, which are interesting.
Of course, In Our Lancashire Homes is a Liverpool folk song and No Nay Never is an Irish folk song.
Personally, I'm a bit disappointed we don't have more Opera stuff but given the evident lack of education on this forum and most contributors inability to string a sentence together a full aria sung in Italian would probably be too much too expect but I live in hope and have put this together with a couple of adapted lines:
Vincent Kompany! Vincent Kompany!
Tu pure, o Principe
Nella tua fredda Longside
Guardi le Burnley stelle
Che tremano D'amore e di speranza!
Ma il mio mistero è chiuso in me
Il nome mio Vincent Kompany
No, no, sulla tua bocca lo dirò
Quando la luce splenderà!
Ed il mio bacio scioglierà
Il silenzio che ti fa mia!
ll nome suo nessun saprà
E noi dovrem, ahimè! Morir! Morir!
Dilegua, o notte! Tramontate, stelle!
Tramontate, stelle! All'alba vincerò!
Vince our hero! Vince our hero
No need to thank me...!

sometimes the songs get a tad too elaborate for many.. but like the concept of the yellow submarine song. Would just stick to the main line tho:
"We're going up with Vincent Kompany, Vincent Kompany, Vincent Kompany..." etc etc repeat to fade
