Lest We Forget

I really hope the 2 minutes silence gets the respect it deserves from both sets of fans on Sunday in which will be a rollercoaster day of emotions, but if some idiots don’t understand the word of respect , can we please not boo or react to them until the 2 minutes is over please. What a show of respect on international television it would be for the Turf to go silent on the derby days of all derby days. UTC COYC NNN

The people in the stands will be fine.
They’ll be a bit of noise from people underneath because they don’t know what’s going on outside as usual.

Aye let’s remember the thousands of soldiers , sailors , airmen and not forgetting the women’s royal army corps and the Queen Alexandra nurses. You can go through the names of the east lancs dead on tinterweb and it fair pulls you up seeing the very young men who went over the top .

I’ve never EVER seen the 2mins silence interrupted at TM ,always been respected to a man . Quite why the clearly hysterical OP needs to post such self indulgent nonsense is anyones business .

Watching the build up to the service at the Cenotaph.
It makes you realise how relatively unimportant football is in the wider context of things.
Lest We Forget indeed.

Just watched march through Burnley Town centre.
Lest we forget, brave people from Burnley and Blackburn fought and died for us together.

Not much danger of people forgetting.
Days on end of media coverage will ensure that.

Hardly days on end of coverage.
Quite right that there is coverage and forever may it continue.

If ever two sets of rival fans should join and march together, in comradeship, it is today. Blackburn, Burnley and neighbours were the East Lancashire regiment and together fought side by side and died as pals.
A Bene and hots should be toasted to each other.
On the pitch - the match. Off the pitch - lest we forget.
