He truly took advantage of a very poor Blackburn defence

Really pleased for him. I thought after Blackpool he was not going to get his mojo back but recently he's been very good.

Struggled to get a stream here in Calgary but saw some choppy bits and pieces second half (oke up at 6.30 - it's half 7 now) and missed all the goals but bugger me what a great result and way to sign off before the dull cup.

You only needed to see the congratulations he was getting after the match, not only from those playing, but from all those not in the match day squad to see how well thought of he is.

I don’t think we will see too many more days like from Barnes but what a swan song. Thank you, Ashley.

Has any player in the last decade bought into the Burnley way more than Barnes? (obviously excluding Jay Rod)

Never scores a dull consolation goal, they're always epic strikes for whatever reason

Apologies, I've had a few, nerves and everything but I really mean it, he'll forever remain a claret legend. That performance today elevated him to a place that is reserved for players on the all time list. He's been a massive part of such a successful period and he goes and two punches the b@stards in the teeth in his twilight, when I thought he was down for the count. Stupid me. Proper Roy of the Rovers stuff. May he continue to be a rock behind the curtain, an obviously brilliant man to have around in this team of magic.

To be honest Ash needed the goal aganist Crawley just to get the weight off him .
Now when you look at the 2nd goal where he took his time no presure and you know the rest .

He's one of my all time favourite BFC players but this season he has been shite, when I seen the lineup I preyed he scored and got the send off he deserved.
Well he did so hats off Mr.Barnes leave as an hero u deserve it what a player what a man, WHAT A CLARETS LEGEND

He was great today, and any Claret who bags a brace against Rovers will always live long in the memory.

Today was the day we needed our experienced players to step up and Ash duly obliged.

One of those who truly understands this intense rivalry and that showed in his passion when he scored.

No idea how much we'll see of Ash for the rest of the season, but that's some way to announce your resurgence.

Well done Ash.

About as wide of the mark as me picking Man City to beat Brentford in a last man standing competition yesterday.

He created a new definition of a "hat trick". 1 header, 1 shot, 1 b4sterd goalkeeper all hit the back of the net.

Really chuffed for him and it’s clear the players love him. He was back to his old self. Great stuff!

Only one person needs to grow up

The games he got slated in, he was crap

Today he was good, doesn't suddenly mean the Games he was crap in, he suddenly became better

It's life, some games are good, others are poor, as you grow up you'll come to realise it more

I feel like I’m quite objective when it comes to rating players, no agendas, using stats - I’ve not rated Barnes much this season but today he was outstanding, everything he was a few years ago. Well done Ashley.

Sure he’s been bloody awful this season and way past his best BUT what a great servant and simply superb today . His confidence is back , he’s sharp, fit and totally on it . I saltire you Sir Ashley of Barnes .
