From telly

Muric 7 saved the one and only shot they had
Vitinho 7
THB 8
Beyer 8
Maatsan 7
Cullen 8
Cork 8
Brownhill 8
Benson 7
Zaroury 8 (9 after he got ‘helped’ into the hoardings)
Barnes 9

Tella 7 (needs to get his head up more)

Thought our midfield 3 were great today and the main reason we totally dominated the game.

Also thought Tommason spoke well after the game - they might have just landed a good manager there

From TV:

Muric -6 - Very little to do. Only one save but did all he needed to.
Vitinho - 7 - Probably more then OK because he had to deal with Diaz which he mostly did well.
THB - 7 - OK. On the whole our defence did well against what today appeared to be a limited attack.
Beyer 6 - OK but point knocked off for the stupid push in the back on Diaz which should have been a pen.. I know players get away with this, as Beyer did, but they shouldn’t. Generally though did his job as THB did.
Maatsen - 7 - Defending OK, attacking better.
Cork - 9 - Excellent. Deserved his yellow for persistent fouling but with Cullen controlled the match.
Cullen - 9 - Excellent. Just pipped for MoM. Was every where. The two best crosses late in the first half came from him leading to the two good saves by Kiminski. In the second half he did a delightful piece of control as he took the ball down and lightly touched it on to an attacker.
Benson - 7 - Was a threat but his delivery didn’t live up to his standards.
Brownhill - 7 - Good. Some good work, some less so. He can’t seem to shoot from distance and some of his set pieces were poor.
Zaroury - 8 - A real threat. At first it seemed Blackburn had the measure of him but eventually his class told. Another goal and assist.
Barnes - 9 - MoM - Started off with a couple of near misses, but he was there. Second half, two goals, the shot that led to the other and a constant thorn to Blackburn’s defence. This is the Barnes I want to see. Really enjoyed the first goal’s push on Kaminski to get him in the net too!

Tella - 8 - I thought an odd substitution after Benson had just created an opportunity but Tella’s energy and example caused the pressing that led to goals two and three. An excellent twenty minutes and inspired sub.

The other subs, particularly Taylor, were what was wanted.

Most enjoyable! In the first half we limited them to nothing and had a few chances ourselves but nothing really clear cut. Not quite as dominant as against Norwich but nearly. Second half we had more bite about us and the first goal was well created. The second two were because of the Tella substitution and pressing - perfect timing as this was not what Blackburn wanted. Well done to the boys for, er, getting back on the horse after last week!

All in all, at this point in the season, we are doing amazingly well. With two teams left to play before the half way mark, only one side has really shown up our short comings. Maybe they’ll be addressed by additional players or perhaps the ones we have developing further. We also need work on dead ball situations.

Let’s relax and enjoy the next three weeks and then march on.

Will do ratings later when I’ve calmed down but thought Cullen was absolutely outstanding. Fantastic to see Barnes rolling back the years.

Superb

Its hard to explain how much better than them we were and I think 3-0 flattered them

Barnes was absolutely terrific, the midfield three dominated with Cullen being outstanding and the back two barely gave them a kick

We were brilliant all over the pitch

UTC

Muric 7 - one save and that is all he had to do
Vitinhio 7 - solid but relatively untroubled
Beyer 8 - terrific
THB 8 - as above
Maatsen 7 - as Vitinhio
Benson 8 - grew into the game and though never in full flow played well
Cork 9 - outstanding
Cullen 10* - the complete midfield performance
Brownhill 9 - energy levels all maxed out today
Zaroury 8 - quiet first half, lethal the 2nd, and what a cross for the first
Barnes 9 - His best game for years, and I mean years, absolutely brilliant to see and if you are going to have a swansong, then scoring twice v the bastards is the right way to do it!

Terrific, we showed them how good we are, and they couldn't compete

Muric didn't have many saves to make and even his best one you'd fully expect him to save it. But you're spot on his composure and setting the tone. He did everything right today and his distribution was particularly good today.

Muric 8 - quality distribution, calmness personified
Vitinho 6 - some sloppy passing but dealt with most stuff
THB 9 - playmaker today given how deep they were, some stunning passing
Beyer 8 - read the play very well
Maatsen 8 - at it today, constant threat
Cork 8 - won most in there along with
Cullen 9* - set the tone, outstanding in and out of possession
Brownhill 9 - with Cullen, they couldn’t cope with his energy
Benson 7 - thought they dealt with him quite well but he still looked a threat
Zaroury 9 - sublime assist and goal, what a player
Barnes 9 - the Barnes of old

Tella 8 - offered a new option and what a flick for our 2nd

Muric 8 - didn’t have much to do other than a regulation save but very assured on the ball
Vitinho 6 - thought he was a bit loose today
Harwood Bellis 8 - solid and excellent distribution
Beyer 8 - did well today
Maatsen 7 - got forward very well though some poor touches
Cullen 9* - outstanding. Controlled the midfield. Proper derby performance
Cork 8 - class as ever
Brownhill 8 - great energy
Zaroury 9 - the lad is absolute class. That cross…
Benson 8 - crossing a bit off but still a constant threat and I think he knackered them out
Barnes 9 - rolling back the years!

Tella 8 - frightened the life out of them

Men against boys. Total dominance.

To be fair he didn't have a cross to contend with, which is where I thought they may have targeted him

Muric 7 hardly anything to do with his hands, played some lovely stuff with his feet

Vitinho 7 thought he stood up to BBD well

Harwood-Bellis 8 dominant and some proper lovely switches of play

Beyer 8 dominant and recovered a couple of potentially hairy situations with impressive ease

Maatsen 7 much better than he has been recently, great ball into Barnes 2nd half

Cork 9 mad how he made a Derby game like this look like a stroll

Cullen 9 everywhere and positive on the ball

Brownhill 9 really helped keep the pressing high

Benson 7 average 1st half, picked it up in the second. Final ball lacking a bit but his megging of their defender just before he was subbed was proper wingery

Zaroury 8 also a first half where he probed but didn't have loads of joy. That ball into Barnes is perfection and his control of a difficult finish for his goal was superb. Some player we have here.

Barnes 9 the midweek goal will have got his confidence flowing and he was flying today. Could have had 5 were it not for some good saves by their keeper. Clear how much it meant to him and how much he means to the rest of the squad. The perfect player for today's game.

Com. Pre. Hen. Sive.

We know when we're on our game we're the best team in the division and there was a spring back in our step after a game too far at Bramall Lane. A dominant first half gave way to a battering for them in the second and once that 1st goal went in, there was only going to be one winner. A great day. Shame this non entity of a world cup gets in the way now as the momentum is back but it will be good for the team to work on a few things and come back even stronger, with a couple more players hopefully back in contention. It's already a special season this; we have some team and a pretty good manager to boot. Important we all enjoy it while it lasts.

A sweet win - and the presence of Brownhill and Barnes meant we were a completely different proposition to last week. Credit to VK for giving Barnes the nod.

Muric - 8 - one excellent save and must have the lowest pulse rate at the club - the calmness of his distribution in such a pressure cooker was fantastic and a big part of our dominance.

Vitinho - 7 - they had a none-too-subtle plan to exploit his tendency to over commit, and it nearly worked a couple of times, but he thrived on the physical stuff and showed his technical ability on occasions.

Maatsen - 7 - a little unconvincing defensively occasionally but his pace and speed of pass were key to us committing men and working space.

THB - 9 - used the ball dead well, particularly for the third goal but throughout.

Beyer - 7 - a few concerning moments when Rovers ran at him, and needed to be more physical occasionally, but equally he used the ball well and mopped up smoothly when necessary and in the end those counter attacks basically came to nothing.

Cullen - 9 - absolutely dominated the game. His best game for Burnley. Used the ball well, got forward well, recovered tonnes of ball.

Cork - 7 - really neat and tidy and screened the back four well, although I thought his fouls were a touch needless and he’s going to have to stop picking up quite so many bookings.

Brownhill - 8 - imposed himself on the game from start to finish, did ever so well for the third goal and did a phenomenal amount of work off the ball to drag markers around and recover possession.

Benson- 7 - a hit and miss first half when he was a threat but lacked end product, and whilst he was more effective after the break the sub was absolutely the right one.

Barnes - 9 - I’m made up for him because he’s beeen written off a little prematurely and he made his point today, Gave us a physical platform and fixed defenders all afternoon and was at the heart of our attacking play, whilst also adding leadership and nous on the rare occasion we had to defend a set play, took his goals well and got into goal scoring positions.

Zaroury - 9 - well shackled in the first half and they doubled up throughout, but basically class outed. If he can score goals like Sunderland on his right foot, and deliver crossses like that today on his left, then he’s a rare talent. Took his goal really well too. Enjoying his football and maturing at a dizzying rate right in front of us.

Tella - 7 - the flick to set Barnes away for the second goal was gorgeous, and whilst his final ball was otherwise a little hit and miss his pressing and dynamism gave us an extra dimension which helped us take the game away from Rovers.

The biggest marker in this game was that from the kick off, Rovers treated this like they were the underdog in a cup tie - flat back 6, two in front, and then just Gallagher and Brereton from wide detailed to add any attacking threat. Tomasson evidently determined that they couldn’t go toe to toe with Burnley- and his suspicions were confirmed when they had to come out after falling behind and were outclassed. That’s the team second in the league before the weekend and a team who in their moments showed enough to suggest they were far from the worst team to come to Turf Moor this season. Gallagher’s injury was a big break for us because he was carrying s threat, but we exploited it ruthlessly and once ahead didn’t look back.

4 weeks off now and that will help is develop even more - Kompany and his men can look back on a job well started. We’re 10 points ahead of schedule and in a fabulous position to launch a promotion charge whilst playing the most attractive football in the league. Rovers on this evidence, and the evidence of their tactics, can’t live with us. For tonight that’s sweet enough in itself.

Muric 7 - apart from one save had nothing to do all game
Vitinho 7
Harwood Bellis 8 - masterful at the back and stepping up to break lines
Beyer 8 - as above
Maatsen 7 - solid enough
Cullen 8 - did a huge amount of water carrying on the left
Cork 8 - some great professional tackles - that slowed down and broke up blackburn
Brownhill 8 - great engine - equally effective when he switched to right for last 15 mins
Zaroury 8 - world class cross - hugs the touch line and caused real problems
Benson 7 - was actually effective as a starter and subbed at right time
Barnes 8 - this derby was made for Barnes - led line well with aggression and physicality

Tella 8 - just for the blind pass for our third and the 3-0 signal to there centre half. Right call having him as a sub for this game, as his temperament can run hot for a game like this.

Taylor 7 - the one tackle he did on deck was excellent

First of all, due to me having to miss the home 1-0 win in 2015/16 (as I was at my mates wedding), this is the first time I've EVER seen us beat them live in the flesh (I"ve been a season ticket holder since 1987). I stopped going to the bubble Ewood games after that 5-0 mauling (the day before my birthday). I would say today has exorcised the demons.

A full Turf Moor singing "You're f***ing sh*t" and "we are top of the league" to a beleaguered set of b*stard fans who couldn't go anywhere was a moment that will stick with me for a long long time.

The fact Barnes got his moment of redemption has elevated him into the pantheon of legend status. I was worried his legacy was going to be tarnished after this season, but fair play for him to come up trumps once again.

And also just watch for Tella's setup on the third goal with his back. Absolutely glorious

After Sunderland I said Barnes shouldn't play for us again... how wrong was I?! Brilliant performance and I'll be on a high for weeks!
