Yes I know it’s an odd place to go for a weekend away with some mates, but we are all pensioners so it seemed appropriate!
Anyone able to recommend a decent pub or two in St Anne’s? Preferably including one that will be showing the rugby.
Also maybe an eatery, curry perhaps. All info gratefully received thank you.

15's on the main drag should have the rugby on. It's a Camra pub in an old bank complete with the old vault.
Wetherspoons on the parallel street is good too. There's a couple of micropubs which are good further up the street. Plus the Pier Inn near the traffic lights.

I think St Annes is a great place. Good choice. Sorry I can't help with pubs.

Please ignore the family humour about Stella. My sister, her fella and my parents are in Lytham so pretty well placed

The Moghul just round the corner from Fifteen always did a good curry (although I haven’t been since I moved out of St Annes over eight years ago). If you want a pub with a tv then Taps in Lytham isn’t the place to go.

No 15 has tv food and drink.
The Lord Derby is ok for a beer and tv it’s a bit ropey clientele wise
No 10 ale house has closed sadly.
The ducks nuts, does beer and tapas.
There is also a Spoons on Wood Street.
Imli is the best curry house in St Annes

There's a Toby carvery near the pier, though I've no idea if it will show the rugby. Probably not the sort of place you stop all afternoon, though (assuming you're watching the women's final as well).

15 is a good shout, proper old boozer.

Fifteen used to be Lloyds Bank. I used to like to sit just outside the vault as it was where I signed my first mortgage agreement and drink my sorrows away!

I'd definitely visit The Hop Shoppe and Keg and Cask over the road for real ale.

TAPS is the best pub on the Fylde. Don't know why a previous comment said no TV's. They have 2. Great selection of beer always. I'm in there every week and it never fails. Also two doors down is the Moschina Indian, one of the best in the area if not the best. Lots of other bars as well. if you feel like tripping back the years after you've had your Moorhouses in TAPS then there is always Marvins across the road for a late night sesh.

Spent far too long, and watched rugby and footy in the Pier. Great place, excellent beer and a splendid host in Martin. Most of us are from Skipton and he was the landlord of the Cock and Bottle there for a while.

There was plenty of rugby on BBC. Of course, you might have had to go to Thirteen for that.

I never understand the fascination with "real " ale and micro brewery beer.Give the any brew a weird name and you're on the way to earning serious money.I remember the wonderful scam Greenalls pulled in the 80s branding lager Grunhalle to pretend their pxxx was German by association

Each to their own, real ales and craft beers are in the main a good drink, some not so good but that is personal taste.

Then again if you are using Greenhall Whitley lager as an example of exploiting punters then perhaps you just stick to whatever insipid lager or cream flow bitter you are currently drinking and leave the quality beer to those who appreciate them.

Nice one! It was awful that Greenall Whitley Beer. On a par with Wilson’s and Watneys.
Mind you in those days we didn’t have a lot of choice or idea about beer. The latter is still applicable to Woodley!
