Apparently could be signing short term contract with Stockport County-aged 37 now

Thought he might join his best mate Wazza in the MLS for a year.
Good luck to him and hopefully when he leaves they throw a massive party for him, name one of the stands after him and erect a 12 foot statue of him outside the ground.

Doesn’t his best mate work for Stockport as a physio or something?

He maybe 37 but he’s a fit 37. One things for sure he’ll not let them down if he’s picked to play.

There were some fans moaning that we were letting him go, I assume more of a dig at the owners ,if not it summed up their football knowledge as wanting. Goodmove for him and it is his level.

Went to a gig recently and ended up with a group of Stockport fans, was amazed at how much they detested us, they could barely talk to me, said they wouldn’t usually interact with a Burnley *******, the hatred was crazy! They hated it even more when I said most Burnley fans wouldn’t know who Stockport were and I’ve never met one that calls them a rival. Enjoyed winding them up to be honest

They even brought a load more over, bit aggressive but I couldn’t have cared less, was just laughing.
They were amazed that we don’t consider them a rival

I think aircraft landing at Manchester discharging their toilets over Stockport has affected their character over-the the years.

I'm sure the Stockport fans 40 years and younger have no idea of the " rivalry " unless it's been passed down off dad...must admit I've had dodgy encounters at edgeley Park in the past....they weren't keen on us !
Always remember a flag at the Wembley game saying.."We don't Stock Port just Claret"...

The original lad was 19, said he’d never met a Burnley fan and hated us, couldn’t believe he’d met one, stone island jumper on

Next thing I know, dad comes over, bit of a tit but I’m fine with all that, asked me to ring my dad, which I did for the laugh because my dad grew up in that era, my dad was sat at home laughing down the phone at the aggressive fat bold idiot.

Yeah, we are all dads and grandads now that remember the rivalry with Stockport........but still, good luck to Phil Bardsley

I think Phil will become a good coach-certainly has the potential. Seem to recall when Mike Jackson was appointed temp manager that Phil on the bench was to one offering encouragement to the 11 on the pitch. When he played for us he may not have been the most talented but gave 100% at all games and was always talking and encouraging his team mates

Leeds fans think same about us when they hear how much a lot of our fans hate them and how we think there is some rivalry between us. I tell them some numptys still harp on about some random tackle in the 70's and they think we are right set of wallies.
Very naughty. The "tackle" that effectively ended the career of a lovely footballer is no more than a minor incident when compared to the over-all bad behaviour of Don Revie's Leeds Utd.
Clough had it right.

No affection for Stockport after seeing some of their fans' antics at Edgeley in the 90s. Adults starting on kids etc. Wish they had just been left to rot. Such a one way pathetic rivalry with the Wembley outnumbering the icing on the cake.

For those too young to remember I'm thinking that Bill is referring to a very bad tackle on our own John Francis in the Wembley play -off final against Stockport.
Francis found himself bearing down one on one with the Stockport keeper only to be hacked down from behind.I think the Stockport man might have been red carded.

I was one of those crying about the way he left, too many exiting players said their contracts expired with no communication from the club. I just think that’s poor form if it’s true.
