Looking back now,it’s a shame things turned out the way they did that he couldn’t get to the 10 year mark

We are blessed to have witnessed the level of success Sean Dyche brought us.

SD's DNA was perfect for Burnley FC and reading this good article is a valuable reminder of the managers achievements. He managed to squeeze everything out of a modest starting 11, in the process converting several defenders into international standard players, and making us hard to beat. SD and BFC were a perfect fit. It had to end at some point due to our budget and as Ben Mee said in a recent podcast it was becoming increasingly difficult to survive and we ran out of ideas despite the efforts of Mike Jackson. I am not surprised SD is not managing a club, as I believe a number of the top clubs that have sacked managers in the past 8 months would not afford him the time to develop a strong performing squad . Despite our football not being attractive he did bring some of the most memorable seasons to our club

Great reliving the journey. Never thought we’d have done half of what we did under Dyche, what an incredible achievement and transformed the club beyond recognition. I remember the Hull game at home and thinking we’d appointed a dud, how wrong I was.

SD was , in all probability, the architect of his own downfall, but I really do believe that if it wasn't for the injuries to JBG and R Brady things would have turned out differently.

I still cant understand why with our bad run of results and tactical nous,players who should not have been playing,Dyche to loyal,Why did Dyche,Woan,Stone,not change anything what We could all see every game,the writing was on the wall !

A club legend, without a shadow of a doubt. To keep us in the PL for so long, European qualification, the almost mesmerising tactical discipline - sensational. It wasn’t always an easy watch, he had his quirks, and it did feel like the battery was running on empty in that last season but his lofty place in our history is undeniable.

An exceptional Manager for Burnley and only Harry Potts , in my lifetime watching The Clarets,can better his achievements.
We all now hope that Vincent Kompany can stay as Manager long enough to match SD success

It was thanks to Sean Dyche I fell in love with club football. He achieved what I find to be the hardest feat for a manager: he instilled a club culture. His philosophies are embedded in the club and the current leaders within the player groups. Absolutely my favorite personnel in football.

Thank you CT for the wonderful read and reminder of his time with us.

Without Sean’s vision and business acumen probably Barnfield would not have been built to anywhere near the standard it is.

The training facilities are a huge asset for the club and also in attracting prospective talent. This cannot be underestimated in my opinion.

He had a Plan A, then a Plan A and finally a Plan A

Great for us in the first six years or so

But then he just couldn't adapt his own style of tactics to the changing game that football now is

We have moved on and the football (whilst at Championship level) is so much better with players who have a bright future rather than players coming to the end of their best

If you'd have suggested back in 2012 that SD would oversee 2 Championship promotions and a lengthy PL tenure people would have thought you crazy.

And that's even before our brief European sojourn is mentioned.

However thanks to him we had a great ride and often bloodied the noses of the bigger clubs, and for that plus the infrastructure now in place we should be eternally grateful.

Sadly in Sean's last couple of seasons in charge things did go awry, and it probably was the right time to part ways with a heavy heart.

My one major gripe with Sean was his dismissive attitude to any cup competitions, I understand why he prioritized the PL but it was still disappointing to suffer endless exits to lower league sides by employing weakened sides.

An absolutely brilliant manager for the club that exceeded everybody's wildest dreams. An inspirational leader on and off the pitch with his vision to persuade the club to use the Premier league finances to create a state of art training facility at Gawthorpe. His direct style of play was maybe a bit marmite with some but when we did have the period with the decent squad the football was also decent. His philosophy seemed to match that of the club on terms of being realistic with financial support but still managed to beat many of the top teams in the league, but this vision was not realistic in the long term so the inevitable happens, even at Burnley.

Incredible period for our club and something we will reflect on more and more in time with admiration. But now it's onwards and upwards with the new man.

If he had played Jack Cork more in the relegation season he would probably still be here.

Increasingly it would seem that Sean was out of step with the people running the club. His very public slating of the Board when they let Hendrick and others leave and then seemingly his incompatibility with current regime.

Whatever you think of the American takeover there is no doubt that it was a master stroke to bring in Kompany and plainly they are all on the same page. VK said the main reason he came to the club was the people running it in his extended interview with Marcotti. Plainly Vinny has the flexibility of approach and knowledge of football at the top level of club and International football that Sean lacked, which forced the latter into a mainly defensive mode with respect to tactics, recruitment and dealing with the media.

He gave us all those wins, on top of everything else he achieved. Unbelievable manager for us.
