Start the engine, heaters on and because I'm currently driving a Ford for the winter, press the demist front windscreen button.
Then I scrape the ice off the side windows whilst that and the rear window are defrosting.

Boil the kettle. Really brim it. Soon as it's boiled, chuck the whole lot over in one quick motion!

You forgot step 3 'ring Auto Windscreens to come and replace cracked screen' when it goes pop

Is that short for dogging? Does it spin the number plate James Bond style so no one can identify you?

Fill a zip lock freezer bag with warm water and run it top to bottom side to side over the screen - job done.

Believe it or not, I had a Renault Megane from new for 6 years from 2001 and did exactly as suggested above throughout the life of the car and never had a single issue.

Ha! Re Dog mode. Keeps the windows just open enough for ventilation, in hot weather and puts a notice on the screen, to let worried passers by know all is ok!
Camp mode (I use that) keeps the car at a reasonable temperature, overnight, when you you camp in the back.
Starts with a nice camp fire on the big screen, for that cosy feeling!

Dog mode is there to stop allow you to leave your dog in the car.
Just pops up the message on the screen in the car

You can buy a screen protector to put on overnight, it takes 30 seconds, works a treat and saves running back and forth with hot water.

Lukewarm water, not necessarily even warm enough for handwashing, does the job perfectly. With the side benefit that your windscreen doesn't steam up when you get in the car.

Life is tough NewClaret!
Turf Moor or a home - no contest!
I have spent a week in it, touring the Hebrides. Very cool! Duvet to level the back and air mattress that fits the back. Also used it recently, whilst looking at houses in Scotland, after a Burnley evening match. Arriving 4am makes accommodation difficult!
Great fun.

Start the car remotely from the house and switch on the heated front screen and the heated seat. Defrosted in about 2 minutes and the driver's seat is starting to get warm.

Camp Mode - Drops the fluffy dice from the hidden ceiling compartment, gets the temperature up to a point where you're comfortable in leather shorts and fires up the Best of Right Said Fred on the stereo.
