Return to action. Can we get better?
Return to action. Can we get better?
A pulsating wk end of football ahead, with the return of the clarets on Sunday and the quarter final Saturday evening. At the start of the season VK talked about getting to the break in touch with the playoffs and then having the time to really get the message through, work with the players and have a proper go. We’ve surpassed all expectations, seem well ahead of the curve and now we have westy, Darko and twine fit, plus (hopefully) the return of the real Barnes. Can we get even better? The football at times has been scintillating and in my opinion I’m not sure it can get much more fluid, improve the style but the options now I feel will bring a greater level of consistency and a greater ability to change games and rotate - in particular the return of Westwood will take the burden off cork and Cullen. What are your thoughts? Can we be even better? Really looking forward to watching us again.

I truly think Twine will make such a difference. We win a ton of well placed free kicks and do naff all with them. You look at his goals last season and just think the joy he could have. Really hope the lad is fully fit and gets the chance - the spaces we make suit a player who fancies a long ranger in open play too.
I also think (and hope) we might get a better version of Connor Roberts. He’s such a passionate Welshman and clearly the World Cup has been on his mind. Not suggesting he’s not been committed as such, but your mind wanders as a player with a once in a lifetime opportunity - it has to. I reckon we might be surprised by him.

Yes, we probably can get better, and the returning players, plus perhaps a new signing or two in January should enable us to continue our charge back to the PL under Vinny.

Yes, I also think so. Really looking forward to seeing more of churlinov. I think all the returning players could have big roles to playjedi_master wrote: ↑Fri Dec 09, 2022 7:43 pmI truly think Twine will make such a difference. Yes, we can definitely improve and if we are getting promoted we will need to. Really looking forward to the next few weeks.

Yes - we can definitely get better.
You could see the improvements from the earlier games to the later games.
Plus the returning Twine and Churlinov will provide different options for our team, particularly useful against low block teams.

We've done so well all round I'd be very happy if we just maintain our performance. I think it's particularly important we hit the ground running following the break.

Always tough after a lay off ( for both teams) and no Zaroury for a while. We have a small points cushion and players returning from injury. So overall we are in a great place to push on from here.

I think we can get better and if we do we can probably just about do enough to stay in touch with Sheffield United and finish runners up.

If we do get better, Sheff Utd will be left in our wake along with everyone else...TheFamilyCat wrote: ↑Fri Dec 09, 2022 8:18 pmI think we can get better and if we do we can probably just about do enough to stay in touch with Sheffield United and finish runners up.
My concern is the loss of the momentum we gained when we spanked the bastards. The whole place was buzzing, even in the stands after the final whistler you could almost touch the belief of the players. They got it, of that I'm sure. I hope they remember it when they get back.
