Must be some others apart from Gyokeres.
Can’t wait for the Club video reveals.

We possibly only need 1, maybe 2

Makes a big change

Possibly a striker on our shopping list depending whether any of our current loanees are recalled by their parent clubs, but that apart I'll be happy for us to maintain our present squad.

Perhaps we might move out a few of the fringe players, say Long and Lowton who aren't looking likely to feature in the first team squad let alone actually get on the pitch.

Weghorst coming back?

Can't believe he went all the way to Turkey to get on the Netherland WC squad, just to be carded from the bench in their last game. Was that how he planned it? Genius really in it's absurdity.

HAHAHA. And my post was almost genius in it's stupidity. Or comedic timing. Take your pick.

Sell him and clear the debt. He’ll never be worth more and we might be able to hang on to some others for longer.

Bet Besiktas find the money now and sell him themselves. Hope there is no permanent transfer agreement in place already.

Heard today that we’ve been told Gyokeres is out of the question and we’re interested in Undav.

One thing for sure is if we are going to go back up we need a upgrade on the strikers we have at the club so for me the boat needs pushing out for a new striker who ever that maybe.

As strong as the bench is we still need a centre forward to challenge Jay as a starter.
Maybe being greedy but a CH as well.

They say everyone has a lookalike somewhere

Given our debt, we would be looking for a lot of Wout doubles

Unfortunately the fee has already been agreed for Wout so his World Cup performance won’t change that fee.

Any increase in his value on the back of the World Cup might mean Beskitas are more willing to buy him and possibly sell him on themselves shortly after.

Undav's two seasons for USG were a season each in the top two divisions. 35 goals in 51 league games, but I don't know how many were scored in his season in the top flight. However, Union won the title and in their first season back in the top flight for 49 years. Some achievement. He sounds promising.

Yeah. If Southampton and/or Brentford decide to recall their players then that could force us into action.

Pace interview with his thoughts on VK and the team and as someone has posted- he doesn’t expect a busy transfer window as squad depth is good.

Will see what happens but I think it’s right that we are not desperate for any position at the moment.

Twine
Churlinov
Westwood

All have an impact to make and are like 3 new signings.

Zaroury to come back after World Cup.

I can only see loan recalls, or go forbid a serious injury, causing us to consider entering the market.

Centre midfield and a striker would be nice, particularly if there are any outgoings.

Looks like they are happy to go with what they have said Pace in latest interview so it's looking like a quiet January.

The biggest risk is an injury to Bayer or THB, especially the latter. Having said that they are both young. The second biggest is a recall for Tella.

In Pace’s own words when asked about incoming January transfers, “Probably not particularly when you see the strength of the squad”. An unsurprising answer, a good interview but even the chairman is very happy!

Clever answer from Pace, you don’t go announcing to everyone what you want in Jan, keep it nice and quiet.

You don’t spend all deadline day trying to sign him from Swansea to decide after a good start to the season we don’t need anyone else.

If players are there at the first price we will recruit again

That was in response to the question: "do you expect a busy window"?

I don't think anyone expects it to be a busy window, doesn't mean we aren't looking for a striker, (Nixon says we are).

Welcome to be entering a transfer window without desperately needing to recruit for once, and assuming everyone stays it'll likely be a quiet one for Burnley.

That said I'm sure if players become available at the right price we'll be interested, and our lofty position might entice a few to consider a move to Turf Moor.

But there's no point buying for buying sake, so unless they can offer genuine quality to our existing squad we'd be wise to hold off until the summer, when several high earners will be off the books, and we'll have guaranteed PL money to spend.

I don’t think we need anyone other than replacing potential loan recalls.

Wouldn’t surprise me if Brentford recall Dervisoglu due to lack of playing time. In which case I think that’s where the link with the lad from Brighton would come into play.

I know the club are at least making contingency plans ahead of a potential Tella recall should Southampton choose to do so. We have been in contact with Leeds regarding the loan signing of Joe Gelhardt.

Really liked the look of Gelhardt in the PL last season.

Surprised he’s not been used more this season.

We’ll be able to attract better players in 6 months time so I wouldn’t be too bothered about strengthening in January, unless an opportunity arises for a player who we think will make the step up to the PL, or if a loan player is recalled.

That’s really interesting. Would be a great signing we’re Tella to leave, although would be disappointed if he did given how the fans have supported him.

However good his relationship with the fans is here, Tella wouldn't have any say in what his parent club decides to do.

I honestly think players have a big say in their future. If he unequivocally tells them he’d like to remain, I think it’d be difficult to recall him. If he says he’d love to come back, quite the opposite. Players have a big influence on their careers.
