Muric - 5 Mixed bag from the big man today but the ref let him off the hook with a major clanger.
Vitinho - 5 Started poorly but gradually grew into the game.
Harwood Bellis - 7 Solid.
Beyer - 8 Pick of the defence for me.

JBG - 8 Superb all round display. Looking strong.

Cullen - 8 Really good use of the ball and some of his work off the ball was vital.

Almost too easy. We got a little sloppy when QPR tried to make more of a game of it in the second half but a masterclass from Cork in how to run a game. Must have been dispiriting to be a QPR fan today especially when they received a rendition of ‘you should have gone Christmas shopping’ after the third went in.

Muric 7 - some good distribution and instinctive save. Could have cost us two goals on another day though....
Vitinho 7 - a constant outlet and defended well. Good strike for the second, some of his passing was slightly awry in the first half.
Harwood-Bellis 8 - some excellent distribution and generally in control.
Beyer 8 - first half in particular he was excellent.
Maatsen 7 - we were a little open down his side in the first half and he looked to be more reserved in the second half. Excellent finish for his goal.
Gudmundson 8 - excellent free kick and worked very hard. His lack of threat on the outside does limit us at times though.
Cork 8* - another excellent performance from Cork but he and Cullen did look a little lightweight at times in the second half.
Cullen 7 - worked very hard off the ball and used the ball wisely.
Brownhill 7 - probably should have scored. Got better as the game went on and despite not having the largest physique more than held his own against some powerful midfielders.
Tella 7 - always looked a threat but his decision making and execution both let him down at times. Excellent finish for his goal though and his electric pace means he's always lla threat.
Jay Rod 6 - did a good job for the team today whilst not quite at his best.

A very dominant performance against a well placed albeit out of form team. This team looks very good at this level and you can see there is still lots of development for us, shaping up to be a very good season.

Muric 7 - Knocking one off for the ‘penalty’, as he misjudged that badly. Claimed well throughout today though and made one good save when called upon, though unsure how much he knew about it.

Vitinho 7 - Decent both ways today and key to the second goal with his rasping drive.

THB 8 - Utterly untroubled throughout. Coasted.

Beyer 8 - As above

Maatsen 9 - Thought he was seriously good today backwards and forwards. Great in possession and what a finish.

Gudmundsson 9 - My man of the match today. Really constantly involved throughout the game and clever with the ball. Scored a stunning free kick and had a hand in Tella’s goal too.

Brownhill 7 - Should have buried the opening towards the end, which was a little unlike him, but overall very solid.

Tella 7 - Thought he made the wrong decision quite a few times today, particularly in the first half and went down some blind alleys. Lethal though when he gets a chance and it was his persistence and willingness to prey on errors which got him his rewards (well, that and his insane pace). Great finish.

Rodriguez 6 - Largely uninvolved really today.

Great performance.

Muric 8 Can't deduct him any points for the "penalty" because, thanks to my restricted view seat I didn't even know there had been an incident. Presumed it was an argument about whether it should have been a corner or not

Muric - 7 - a little rash early on and lucky not to concede a penalty (even if it was less a penalty than sky inferred,because the attacker initiated contact) and one hairy moment when he was closed down, but otherwise very solid in possession and coped as well as he ever has with an aerial examination.

Vitinho - 7 - thought they targeted him a little defensively, but he held his own and used the ball smartly. Crossing is still a surprising weakness in one so good on the ball.

Maatsen - 9 - excellent in both attack and defence, in possession and without it. Took his goal well and an outlet throughout.

THB - 7 - a few misplaced first half passes but grew into the game and showed both his composure and his willingness to mix it.

Bayer - 9 - mopped up imperiously alongside Maatsen and THB. Looked physically stronger, particularly in the air.

Cork - 8 - dominated the first half. Less influential in the second half but still a presence, although he could have done without a needless booking to add to his collection.

Cullen - 8 - did all the basics really well, the only criticism being that he needs to help Cork by taking the tactical yellow occasionally.

Brownhill - 8 - added our physical edge to great effect.

JBG - 8 - wonderful free kick, worked hard and linked up nicely even if he didn’t break the lines much h8msekf.

Tella - 8 - real live wire threat and rook his goal well, although his final ball from the left is not always as precise as his talent might lead us to expect.

Rodriguez- 7 - on the periphery of the game for spells bu5 when he was in it, he showed real quality and intelligence.

Benson - 7 - some lively runs.

After a 4 week break, a trip to a good QPR side felt like a real banana skin, but after a slightly rusty first 10 minutes we hit full throttle and dominated the game. The first half was very good in possession but whilst the second half was less tidy, i suspect the way we stood up to a physical examination will have pleased Kompany more. On the evidence of the more imposing performances of Muric, THB and Beyer, it wouldn’t be a massive surprise to learn that the focus at Gawthorpe has been as much on battle-hardening the back line as on possession routines. If Ashley has been battering into the keeper and defenders, it seems to have worked because we stood up far better than before the World Cup break.

Another tough test next week, but another promising 90 minutes.

A great result and performance yesterday with some really good football and clinical finishing.

Muric - 7 - Typical couple of dodgy moments, but some good saves too.

Vitinho - 7 - He did well both attacking and defending. Looking more solid.

Maatsen - 8 - See Vitinho - very good finish from a tight angle

THB - 8 - Quality stuff. He's doing a great job - only 20 years old!

Bayer - 8 - See THB - Another assured performance

Cork - 9 (mom) - Is he the best midfielder in the league? - controlled the game from start to finish.

Cullen - 8 - So much good work - does the dirty work, but keeps us moving forward

Brownhill - 8 - Quiet at times, loads of quality when needed. Should have scored late on, but an integral part of this excellent midfield.

JBG - 8 - Again, great quality and what a sublime free kick. So good to see him fit and enjoying his time with VK

Tella - 7 - I thought he struggled at times yesterday and I was expecting him to come off sooner. However, great anticipation and finish (6 +1 for the goal)

Rodriguez- 6 - couldn't get into the game. He has great quality and we will benefit in coming games.

Benson - 7 - could have come on earlier perhaps? always a threat and a nightmare to defend against.

MURIC 8-one of his best games. A few lucky moments but he looked like he had his head on properly
VITINHO 7-growing on me. He has good, and supports the attack well. Good shot to make the second goal
BEYER 8-seems to be getting better each game, and composed
THB 8-great reader of the game and excellent distribution throughout
MAATSEN-8. Thought his defending was more disciplined. For me his goal was outstanding-to hit that ball first time with such power and accuracy
CULLEN 8-worked his socks off and is so tenacious
CORK-8*. My man of the match.Great all round game-such inspiration for a captain who is clearly enjoying his game
BROWNHIL 7-got stronger in the game and had a very good last 20 minutes
TELLA 8-great well taken goal and anticipation, found him frustrating to watch but he is at times one great finisher and a handful
JBG 8-glimpses of his previous best and a lovely goal, plus he is staying fit

Muric 7 - Caught a cross and a crucial save to deny them at important point in the game
Vitinho 7 - Balanced performance both in attack and defence
Harwood Bellis 7 - Solid, brought the ball out well
Beyer 8 - Thought he was excellent. strong, well positioned, calm when put under pressure, good timing in the tackle
Maatsen 8 - Same as Vitinho, well balanced duties of defence and attack. Extra point for the goal which was tricky high at tight angle, well taken.
Gudmundsson 9 - His best game in a long time. Tricky on the ball, caused them lots of problems.
Cork 8 - Excellent. Controlled the midfield. Won the ball back over and over and started new periods of possession and attacks
Brownhill 7 - Industrious. Should have done better with the shot he had.
Cullen 7 - Kept it ticking, always available for a pass.
Tella 7 - Always threatening but cut inside a lot when when Maatsen was on the overlap with more space. Took his goal really well.
Rodriguez 6 - Team performance, first line of defence pressing them to make rushed passes which often ended back in our possession.

Benson 7 - added a threat when he came on.

I'd hate to see him if he didn't have his head on properly

Should have given a penalty away within seconds, no need to do what he did
Nearly gave a goal away after caught in possession, when he had time to get rid of it.

Good on crosses though which was good to see
