Osint Technical (tweet Posted on the Russian Invades thread last night). By doing this he has actually caused a major problem to Russian Oligarchs who rely on tracking guidance through twitter for safe passage where local ground controls are kept out of the loop for their private jets.

he's just making it up as he goes along, Musk is a clown and this is his latest crusade, fortunately you don't track flights on twitter. For example his 3 jets are currently in Oakland, Long Beach and Hawthorne

I don’t have an angle. I pointed to a well respected Technical source as explanation of the effect. Your response was strange.

Also love how in the OP tweet, Musk goes, "no doxxing," then two tweets later in the very same thread he goes, "anyone know who this guy is?"

He's a total clown.

And before some fanboy of his says it, yes, I know he's talking about real-time location doxxing. In other words, he's just banning the doxxing that's inconvenient to himself, but he's fine with using the platform he owns to dox others. This is all owning twitter has ever been about for Musk: power.

Banned a load of journalists last night, who all have one thing in common, they have written stories about him that highlight his, er, "issues"

Course, I'm sure his fanboys (or just the ones who believe the news they want to read) will be along shortly to tell us all that he's sorting out twitter into a fairer place

You’ve got to remember that those that bang on about free speech largely understand it to mean the freedom to say whatever they want without criticism from others. Sort of freedom of speech as a one way street.

I’m intrigued by the concept of an Elon Musk fanboy.

Do people genuinely becomes fans of billionaire businessmen?

Are there hats you can buy and half an half scarfs with him and Bezos on etc?

I think its more to do with the replies he gets on twitter to be honest*

*well, the ones that aren't calling him an idiot or worse

Said on Rowls Musk thread, I don't actually mind him, think he's done some good stuff, but he's struggling with twitter because I think he loves the platform, but is having the same issues the previous owners had in making it an actual money making business

Banning actual journalists is a weird and completely self destructive move

It appears a few "activists" wearing facemasks have started stalking Musk. They apparently blocked in a car carrying one of his children and got on the roof.

Easy to understand how scary this is and why deliberately stalking people on twitter could be dangerous.

Yes, its called "doxxing"

Is that what the blocked journalists are doing?

Or is it just a massive coincidence they have all been very critical of Musk?

To be fair there wasn't an outrage when twitter was banning medical professionals who questioned the COVID narrative and got permanently banned but now there is because a few journalists have a temporary ban.

Both are wrong but Twitter is heading in a better direction.

I don't exactly know. No doubt that's the accusation levelled at them, no doubt they plead innocence and "don't know why" their accounts have been suspended. It's all pantomime and I'm done with it.

The pantomime has spilled over onto the BBC though. I'm getting sick of their selective use of Twitter for "news" stories. Anything deemed embarrassing for Musk gets reported on the BBC. Yet his "Twitter Files", showing some genuinely shocking revelations, haven't even warranted a small internet story.

I simply do not understand the campaign against Musk. I find it completely without merit but it's a great example of herd behaviour and our propensity to attack a nice easy bogeyman as part of a group.

Banning deliberate misinformation that actually killed people is slightly different from banning journalists who are critical of you one would think

Right, so you've taking what Musk has said at face value without checking if he's right or wrong (I don't know if this is what the journalists did, but I find it very unlikely)

Isn't it just as simple as that he annoys the libs?

What were the “genuinely shocking revelations” from the Twitter files? All I saw was the previous admin struggling with how to del with a sitting president trying to foment an insurrection.

No, I didn't.

I'll "nail my colours" here though:

Musk is an oddball, clearly. But people who make absurd amounts of money aren't likely to be average are they?

He's done some nasty little things. Calling the guy rescuing a child in a cave "a pedo" was low and despicable. However, I believe he's atoned for that and apologized. There hasn't been any repeats of this kind of nastiness that I know of.

People on here often misunderstand my motives. They think, in this instance that I want to defend Musk and adore him. I have a great deal of respect for his business achievements but nothing more. He comes across as a utter workaholic and I've met those kind of guys and they're boring as hell.

My real motive here is this: Trying to understand why there's such vitriol and nastiness aimed at him. NRC posted a few sensible reasons on the Musk thread. Other posters wrote eloquently about why they dislike him but I found the reasons to be completely lightweight. They were things like "the Toyota Prius was around before Tesla" - I simply do not understand why knowing this would make you dislike Elon Musk.

There's clearly a swelling of people who now have firm negative opinions on Musk and it's my growing belief that these opinions have been whipped up out of a lot of hot air.

It's nothing other than a pathetic and pointless proxy for being part of a tribe. It's this that I'm interested in understanding.

I used to have a lot of respect for what he has achieved in his business life and his ambitious projects. Once heard someone explain that humanity needs people like him to move the needle of progression - like getting to Mars - most normal entrepreneur wouldn't attempt anything like that.

However, his recent approach to twitter has really put me off. Thought his handling of Yoel Roth was particularly poor, regardless of how he had performed in his previous job. Looks like he is managing to (intentionally) politicise an already incredibly political platform.
