Sadly passed away at the age of 53 after a long battle with Leukemia, a fine player in his day. RIP

Oh wow, this is sad news.

A great player, who took one of the best free kicks you'll see.

RIP

Had a ‘oh no ffs’ before i opened this thread as I knew he had his cancer battles. Really sad to hear this. One of the greats of his generation. RIP

Remember him scoring a hat trick of free kicks for Lazio back in the day. Good player and a real shame, 53 is no age

A controversial man for a number of reasons.

He was indeed a superb striker of the ball. I watched quite a few of his press conferences during his illness and admired him for his candour about his fight against that horrific illness. He was a born fighter and pulled no punches.

Sadly he couldn't beat it but his suffering is over.

RIP Siniša.

Avery very good player in his day. Also remember him being one of the first to play in a mask, to protect a facial injury. RIP.

One of those players where the ball would be 35 yards out and he'd still shoot and score. Must have been one of the first Libero's too.

Absolute beast on Championship Manager 97/98, too.

Rest in peace - enjoy the free kick training session in the sky.

The memory I have of him is with that mask on.

Very good player, albeit a committed/dirty one if I recall rightly.
Opposition fans hated him but they would've had him on their team in a heartbeat
