Muric - 7 - poor on the goal but made up for it with the pen save.
Roberts - 8 - dynamic, all over the park. Can excuse the absolute shambles of a red card.
Maatsen - 7 - made a real difference when he used his pace.
Beyer - 9 - MOM. The game changer, Benson aside in the second half. His runs allowed the distraction to make space for Benson and looked solid defensively.
Harwood-Bellis - 7 - Oozes the class that Cahill had. Tempted to deduct a point for trying to claim the OG.
Cork - 7 - solid and busy.
Cullen - 7 - same as Cork, absolute bargain at 3mil.
JBG - 6 - should’ve buried the first half chance. Standard 6/10 performance.
Benson - 8 - Horrendous error for their goal that was probably already out anyway. 2 pure moments of magic. Giles looked terrified of him.
Brownhill - 6 - looked a bit off it today, not the best.
J-Rod - 6 - needs a goal

Muric 7 - you get a bit of everything with him but he’s a lot better than his ex-City teammate who was in the opposite goal today
Roberts 8 - thought he played well, used the ball nicely, high energy, red will get rescinded
THB 7 - line breaking passing not quite there today
Beyer 9 * - outstanding display, going back and forwards
Maatsen 8 - lively display, some crisp passing and he is improving defensively
Cork 7 - minus 1 for a daft booking, one off 10 now and 2 game ban
Cullen 7 - another tidy display
Benson 8 - bizarre performance, awful end product for most of the game, gifts them a goal, then turns the screw, is unplayable and scores 2
Brownhill 7 - gets through a lot of work, another assist to his name
JBG 7 - not as effective on the left and should have scored first half
Jay Rod 7 - some good linking of play but wasted a decent chance when he tried cut back onto his left

From TV red button

Muric 6
Roberts 8
Harwood Bellis 7
Beyer 9*
Maatsen 7

Benson 8
Cork 7
Cullen 7
Gudmundsson 7

Brownhill 7

Rodriguez 7

Strange game and although Benson was one of the out of touch players in first 45 minutes and then was completely at fault for the Middlesborough goal he then produced a match winning performance .

Think a 4 for Muric after a penalty save is unbelievably harsh

You have got to see how much work he does in the way we play the game - making himself available for passes well outside of his area, his ability to connect to a fullback hugging the touchline often chipping over an opposite player etc

Not to mention he doesn't have the same amount of bodies in between the attacking team and his goal compared to how we were set up under Dyche

Muric 5 - the goal looked extremely soft and then another piece of really poor goalkeeping that lead to the penalty, hed done something similar just prior also. Decent enough save but it was a poor pen and he shouldn't have created that situation. Distributed well.
Roberts 6- not seen a replay of the penalty but certainly looked to be intent on using his arm. Otherwise seemed to follow instruction well and used the ball fairly intelligently.
Harwood-Bellis 7- generally played well today albeit perhaps could have used the ball a little more purposefully in the first half. Thought his recovery was a little slow for the goal.
Beyer 9* - a little slow on the all at times in the first half but showed much more intent in the second half consistently breaking Boros press. Brilliant assist for our first and defended very solidly too.
Maatsen 7 - neat and tidy throughout. Not really tested defensively and a good bit of play to get the corner for the third.
Benson 8 - his final ball wasn't quite on it in the first half though he did look dangerous. Obviously played a huge role on their goalkeeper but more than made up for it with his response of two goals.
Cork 8 - another good performance from Jack and kept us moving nicely. Silly booking though.
Cullen 7 - thought he did OK but perhaps should have imposed himself more in the first half and there were a fee sloppy moments in the se ond also.
Brownhill 7 - got through a lot of work in the first half but couldn't get into the game consistently, should hs e done better with his chance. Good delivery for our third and more involved in the second half.
Gudmundson 7 - some really clever movement but another who maybe should have done better with his first half chance and also failed to find Jay who had a tap in for the chance which Brownhill missed.
Jay 6 - couldn't get involved in the first half but did a good job in leading the press.

I thought Boro set up fairly well in the first half, but we really needed to move the ball quicker and take some more risks. There were too many players taking too many touches. Strangely their freak goal seemed to galvanise us and they had no answers for us in the 15 or 20 minutes after their goal when we looked like we could s ore with every attack. Very entertaining second half of football.

He’s outstanding with his feet - but penalty apart, he messed up every save.

Muric 6 +1 for the pen save. Usually, a fan but flapping at everything today.
Roberts 7 played decent, red card should be overturned. No idea what he was doing, but thankfully he missed it with his hand.
Maatsen 8 Had Isaiah Jones in his pocket today.
TBH 8 With competent officials he could have given away a pen (-1 for that). Otherwise, his usual imperious self. What a player.
Beyer 9* Is he Michael Jordan or Beckenbeyer? Fantastic player. A real Mercedes Benz of a player. This guy is going to the top. Sign him on!
Cullen 7 His usual combative and precise self.
Cork 8 The perfunctory yellow card aside he is a total class act at this level.
Brownhill 7 Buzzed around and played pretty well.
Benson 8 Apart from setting up Middlesbrough's goal, he had a fantastic 2nd half. A game winner at this level.
Rodriguez 6 Lots of huff and puff but missed Tella up with him.
JBG 6 Generally good but stifled being on the left today. Couldn't beat his man, and he can be a little too predictable.
Subs:
Barnes 6 This is his role now. A 20-minute cameo.
Twine poor fella. Got clattered and subbed out after 8 minutes in his first appearance at the Turf. Looked great running on to the field. Can't catch a break.
Churlinov NR
Bastien NR Hope he warmed up some since yesterday! lol

Roberts 7

Beyer 9

Cork 6 so slow today. Anybody could have played midfield against this poor side
Brownhill 6 first touch is heavy

Muric 6 went the right way and saved an awful penalty but it was largely down to him that we were in that situation, as he should be claiming those balls in easily. Probably made more passes than our midfielders.

Roberts 8 thought was very good today, got forward well and did especially well to retrieve in the corner when Benson sold him a right pup. Never a sending off and he was rightly furious.

Harwood-Bellis 7 defensively fine, his passing was a bit sketchy

Beyer 9 man of the match by a mile and the only player to take the game by the scruff of the neck - mad for a centre half

Cork 7 dumb booking

Cullen 8 all over

Brownhill 6 full of energy but not very productive. Good ball in for the 3rd.

Benson 7 gifted them the lead but obvs made up for it with 2 goals, albeit both were fortunate. Pretty average otherwise.

Gudmundsson 7 his lack of pace doesn't help and he should have buried his two chances, decent enough on the whole though.

Rodriguez 6 outnumbered

Pretty drab first half gave way to second where we were on the front foot until we shot ourselves in it with whatever Benson was doing. Still, there was plenty of time and whilst all 3 goals were fortunate, did we even get out of 2nd fear today? Good to see the subs on but I've never liked making 3 at once as it disrupts things too much. Could have gone a bit wrong at the end but it didn't so we're all good and that's another poor side dispatched with relative ease.

Muric 6
Roberts 6
THB. 8
Beyer 9 MOM
Maatsen 7
Benson 8. More than made up for his error!
Brownhill 7
Cork 7
Cullen 7 Two assists so an extra point.
JGB 6
J Rod 6

JBG and Benson have whitewash on their studs all game and in acres of space but for some reason they are often invisible.

THB had the right idea eventually by playing the ball into the corners for them to run onto. I do feel we could do so much more at times with a bit more vision.

That said, we are a force to be reckoned with and can really dig in when needed.

Muric 6 should've done better for the goal
Roberts 8 Good solid game
Maatsen 8 Good overlapping, defended well
THB 7
Beyer 7 Both centre halves were guilty of trying to play glory passes in the 1st half
Gudmundsson 7 Our bright spark in the 1st half
Benson 8 Massive mistake for the Boro goal, but then changed the game.
Cullen 6 sloppy in the 1st half, grew into the game
Cork 7 outstanding this season, not his best 1st half
Brownhill 5 Really poor, awful distribution. Putting in a good shift by running around like a chicken with no head isn't enough
Rodriguez 6 looked slow and off the pace.

Muric 6 - classic MuricBall! Great distribution, too complacent in the run up to the pen, then saves the pen. Never a dull moment but it could have given them undeserved impetus. Possibly could’ve done better on goal.
Roberts 7 - played ok
Harwood-Bellis 7 - decent
Beyer 9* - utter class. Brilliant for the goal and use of the ball is so good. Looks to have improved his physicality too
Maatsen 7 - can frustrate but was looking to drive us forward
Cork 7 - steady away but another booking
Cullen 7 - industrious as ever
Benson 7 - classic curate’s egg, awful error for their goal, but he didn’t hide and atoned perfectly. He needs to believe in himself more sometimes.
Brownhill 7 - busy as ever
Gudmundsson 6 - a little disappointing, his lack of pace stands out
Rodriguez 6 - some decent hold up play but a little off it

Doesn't have to make the save if he just did basic goalkeeping and caught the bloody ball..

Near post, from 20 yards. Given that, whilst it was well enough struck, the keeper will be disappointed I think.

Muric 8, extra one for the pen save, but could have done better rest of game
Roberts 8 good game, nowhere near handball has to be rescinded
Harwood Bellis 6 great defending but his passing was poor
Beyer 7 as above, made some good runs into attack, but his passing was woeful at times
Maatsen 7 better defensively, but not a lot going forward. I think Brownhill was crowding him out of space
Cullen 8
Cork 8
Brownhill 6 strange game, not sure he knew where he was supposed to be
Gudmundsson 7
Benson 9 grew into it, then took it by the scruff of the neck
Rodriguez 6 didn't do him any favours with our setup

Subs:
Barnes 6

Muric 7 entertainment!
Roberts 8 so much better than expected
Harwood Bellis 8 great player, wish he was ours
Beyer 9 so good, but his long passes are a bit ropey
Maatsen 9 brilliant
Cullen 7 works so hard
Cork 7 the engine
Brownhill 8 his energy is so important
Gudmundsson 7 meh
Benson 8 real Jekyll and Hyde
Rodriguez 5 not involved, again

Subs:
Barnes nowt to do
Bastien I like him
Churlinov too late
Twine hope he's OK
Taylor Great tackle, then looked lost

Doesn't have to make the save if he just did basic goalkeeping and caught the bloody ball..
Think people are somewhat underestimating the elements today, swirling winds were pretty bad.

My point is that in his rating you have to factor in his offensive contributions that often go unnoticed and are harder to judge him by because they don’t stick in the mind as much.

I like Muric and think he’s learning - least he’s fearless and comes back with something rather than letting something in a game affect him

Goalie had nothing to do but I am afraid he should have stopped the first and the penalty was down to him as well. Good job he saved the saved the pen.

How was his first fortunate? Fantastic run and finish.
It's really bad goalkeeping. He's on his near post and still gets beat there by a pretty run of the mill shot.

Muric 5 - Credit where it's due, his stribution was superb as usual. A few heart in mouth moments come with the territory. He can improve on crosses and got his feet all wrong for their goal. Despite his weaknesses i'm enjoying hik being our GK.
Roberts 7 - Good game. Covered loads of ground.
THB 7 - Solid enough.
Beyer 9 - Oozed quality throughout the game.
Maatsen 7 - Looking more and more acclimatised in his role.
Cork 7 - Daft yellow but another good game. Been so important for us tgis season. Hopefully tge two game ban doesn't come until Westwood is fit.
Cullen 7 - All action.
Benson 6 - His end product was cobsistently dire until he won the game for us. Not his best performance overalll though.
Brownhill 6 - Some real tidy moments.
JBG 6 - Like a new signing.
Rodriguez 6 - Fed on scraps really but some lovely moments.

Didn’t really feel like we got out of 2nd gear other than for the short spell where we scored our goals

Bodes well…

Strange game. My Boro supporting mate said earlier in the week that they hoped they would "go for it". But they had zero ambition. The only way they were going to score is if we gifted them something.

Still think that with the way we tire teams out, and the firepower we have off the bench, most home games are going to be won this season from minutes 60 and beyond.

Special mention to Benson who made a gaff, then shanked a cross straight under. Many players would have gone under at that point, but he showed hei character and class, what a guy!

Muric - 7 - Bit weak for the goal, flapped at another cross for the pen. Extra mark for the pen save.
Roberts - 7 - solid
Maatsen - 8 - Thought he was superb today
Beyer - 8 - Needs to send the ball wide left quicker, but other than that, very cultured.
Harwood-Bellis - 8 - Just love watching him play
Cork - 7 - fine
Cullen - 7 - got about the pitch
JBG - 6 - Did ok, but will surely be out of the team when Zaroury or Tella come back
Benson - 8 - Great character and skill
Brownhill - 6 - Had a bit of an off day
J-Rod - 6 - Very quiet

TBH we ran out comfortable winners against one of the form teams in the league without our main two star attacking threats. Very promising.
