I am looking for a fridge/freezer engineer.

It's the fridge that I have a problem with, top part of the fridge is not cool enough but the bottom part of the fridge is icing up.

So if anybody can recommend someone to have a look and repair the fridge.

Cheers

Sounds like you might have it upside down. Mine wasn't a Samsung but I was having a similar problem and as soon as I switched it the other way round it worked fine

I'm not a fridge engineer but the first thing I check is the drain hole in the bottom of the fridge, I've had fridges stop working in the past when that has got blocked, including a Samsung American style fridge freezer.

Cheers dibraidio for the advise but would prefer an engineer to repair the problem.

The coldest part of a fridge is the top because that's where the cooling element is.

This is true for any fridge.

If it's freezing up at the bottom it's most likely that the drainage hole is blocked. Defrost it completely and there will be a drainage hole that is almost certainly blocked with gunk.

If this is the problem and you pay for a "fridge engineer" you're really throwing money away as it's easy to fix.

If you search "fridge freezing at bottom" on youtube you'll find lots of videos covering your problem and you ought to be able to fix it yourself.

How many have you owned that stopped working?

If it's in the garage you've got big problems. Fridge/freezers don't like temperatures too low.

If it's in the house - just defrost it. You could have a shoitload of ice in and around its'workings.

Spoke to a company this mourning Dart Appliances in Rossendale, explained the situation hoping they could come out and repair it.

He said no need to attend your house, just follow my steps and it will work fine.

If it does not work we will come out and have a look at it, he basically said the same as HollandsPies.

Just empty the fridge and turn it off for 24 hours, put pans of warm water inside the fridge and let it defrost.

And all he ask for if it works was to leave a decent review on there web page.

If it’s the type with the double fridge doors and drawer freezer underneath there’s quite a bit on the net about it. Known problem and I think there’s group law suit in US against Samsung. Absolute pain in the arris to fix quickly. You have to get the back panel off inside the fridge and it will be frozen up and hard to get off and there’s fragile polystyrene inside. I believe root cause if problem is the defrost heater isn’t powerful enough and drain freezes. You can’t get at drain without taking the panel off unfortunately. I’ve had to do this numerous times with mine. You can also put the fridge in forced defrost mode by holding top left and middle right button together for about 10 secs and then press a button 4 times to get to FD but this won’t in freeze a frozen up fridge but might help prevent it happening if you do it regularly. Try to minimise moisture in fridge and make sure doors closed properly
