The best meat and potato pie I can remember buying at a match. Wrights Pies …… could certainly teach Hollands a lesson .

On the subject of pies the balti one I had at Sheffield United was inedible, awful.

I used to look forward to Rochdale away, purely for the pies. Only ground I bought a pie on entering… and another at ht.

Do you put any sauce on your pie?

Second that, and I’ve only been once!
Bristol City did unreal Cornish pasties

Well done Stoke for working out there’s a gap half way during a game when you can serve hot food. Someone at Turf Moor should copy that idea

I love Hollands pies and puds but the meat and potato pie should be done under the trade descriptions act. It’s a potato pie with a couple of grains of mince.

Best pie for me was the pukka pies Rotherham sold on their old ground. They were really good.
Now they're in all the supermarkets, thats if they're the same ones.
Never heard of Wright's must admit. However, Clarets fans taste is never in doubt.

Never....other than mushy peas and pickled red cabbage when available nothing improves a good meat and potato pie.

Think it was York that used to do hot pork pie with mushy peas with optional mint sauce (Yorkshire style). One of the best ideas to come out of Yorkshire.

Fulham do pork and apple burgers, pricey but decent enough. The pies on the Turf are terrible, no steak Tuesday either - the meat/potatoes are laughable

Need to get Haffner's on the case at Turf. So many good bakeries around this part of the world, Hollands being somewhere mid-table imo!

Wright’s Pies used to be my Saturday dinner time staple when I was a student in Alsager.
Brought back some good memories last night eating one.

The whole food & drink offering needs an overhaul. Like you say, there’s plenty of good local food companies/breweries etc that could improve things beyond the rollover.
Haffners pies would be a great start.
I’m hoping the fact that nobody buys the Carlsberg they’ve been subjecting us to for years will give them the nudge they need to keep improving things.

Agreed - and whilst we're making a wishlist, having those machines that poor 8 pints at a time like they have in other stadiums would significantly improve queue times.

Tbf I will say that they have massively improved organisation with the bene’s pre-poured now. And I’ve noticed maybe one or two more staff on.
But agree entirely on the machine. Would pay for itself in one week I’m sure.
Went in to the club shop & saw they were selling Burnley-branded beers, but you can’t buy them in the ground. Sure a local brewery could do a decent lager and ipa/pale that beats our current offering - although again will say San Miguel is a massive improvement on Carlsberg so credit where it’s due.

Bradford city away circa 1978 Cornish pastie wonderful
Wrexham away pork pie excellent 1988
Harrogate Town v Kings Lynn circa 2009 pie and peas the best yet.

Holland’s pies on the Turf or terrible. It used to be that you took your chances and they were regularly burnt with a rock hard pastry.
Now the tops have a white and wet texture, like they haven’t been baked properly.

Yes it does; replace the potato with meat, and replace the meat with peppered steak.

The best pies ever on a ground was from the Bee Hole kiosk 1985 ish to 1992 ish.
I expect the pies were the same in other parts of the ground.

Great little kiosk that, Stan.
On a good day, you wouldn't get a wiff of the beehole bogs.

Well, just meat gravy actually. I doubt it has any meat that would pass the food count regs.

Quite possible in Morecambe. Lord of the Flies.
My Morecambe ST pal (a Brummie, bizarrely) tells me the chef passed on his secrets and the home made pies there are still excellent.

If you got on early they used to stack the crates of pies up against the wall outside the kiosk near the bogs waiting for the shop to open. Never ate another after seeing that!
