Readings 31 wins, 13 draws and just two defeats, scoring 99 goals and conceding just 32 has never been bettered.
After 26 games, Burnley currently have 15 wins, 8 draws and 2 defeats with 50 goals scored.
Reading had 65 points at this point of the season in 2005/06, today, Burnley sit top of the league with 53 points
116 points available, the extrapolated points from our last ten games on the Magic Numbers thread has us finishing the season on 106 points…
Can we nick it?

Doubt we'll best Reading's total, however a 100 points and 100 goals isn't out of the question.

Doable but big odds against. Players staying fit will play a big part.

I think we will beat the goals not the points.

For me, just matching the achievements of our two most recent promoted sites from the championship, would be remarkable. I never imagined that we could go by round that. A long way to go though yet

The goals to beat is 108 by Man City in the Championship in 2002

There main line up that season was:
GK - Hahnemann
DR - Murty
DL - Shorey
DC - Sonko
DC - Ingimarsson
MR - Little
ML - Convey
MC - Sidwell
MC - Harper
ST - Doyle
ST - Kitson
Notable mentions for Lita, Gunnarsson, Hunt and Oster.

It'd be a heck of a feat to get 100pts, nevermind beat Reading's total
But we are only 1 game away from matching the EFL Championship best ever winning streak - 10 games (Reading & Villa)

Sonko had one of the best games ever at the Turf. Literally everytime he kicked the ball it went out of play

I know a lot of this thread was 6 weeks ago or so so I could forgive people's pessimism but I don't see us dropping any more points.
At all.
Our only slightly dodgy patch was the first 10 games when everyone was new - what we do and how we do it is now the norm plus we have strengthened in January.... quality wise we are easily mid table premier league right now and I won't have anyone tell me otherwise.
I'd genuinely be shocked if we didn't beat Reading's 106 and likewise wouldn't be surprised if we won every game.

From the remaining 17 games we need to win 13 draw 2 and lose 2 to equal that record.
That’s genuinely do-able

Can we do it? Yeah definitely
I personally think we will draw 4/5 once teams are playing for their lives, play offs or relegation.
I reckon about 104 points

They kept a clean sheet that day.
That was his job.

You dont break records with your first 11. You can have the best first 11 ever in the Championship but unless you have another 5 or 6 top class players you might win the league but you wont be anything special
We have an unbelievable first 11 but we have another 5 or 6 players who are worth their weight in gold

It was certainly one of the more bizarre performances with the ball that I’ve seen.
I’m not sure if he did that every game but I’ve not seen a defender do it so much in one game before or since.

I think it's very unlikely we surpass Reading's points total. Few too many draws in the first couple of months of the season will put paid to that. We're a very good side at this level though, I think we can get to 100 points
