I'm wanting to book a ticket for my dad but he stopped going on as he finds it too difficult sitting outside in the cold now.

If I booked one of the hospitality suites how practical is it to stay inside and view the game through the glass?

You can see through the glass

See through the glass and there are chairs. A lot of people stay inside

As daft as it sounds, do they not close the blinds whilst the game is being played l, so if inside can only view on the tv?

I thought they had to do this as not able to consume alcohol in view of the pitch whilst game is on

The lounges in the North stand and Jimmy Mac you can stay in. I dont think you can stay in the bob lord stand. Pointless in the BL stand as you only watch it via tv.

They get around that rule. The glass is heavily tinted. However, you can see a small bit through the glass

We did hospitality in the Longside for a league cup game this season. You can definitely sit inside and watch the game through the glass.

Food pretty good too.

The blinds are long gone thankfully.

The outside of the windows have a reflective sheet applied so you cannot see inside from outside, hence no need for the blinds anymore and you can stand/sit with your drink.

You can sit inside at the windows and watch the match perfectly fine, the reflective sheet does a small bit of the light away but it's not really too noticeable.

You can watch the game inside from any longside or bee hole hospitality inside behind the glass in the warm

My mother and I have season tickets in the "Clearly Interiors Longside Lounge" for exactly that reason. It is too cold for her to sit outside. As stated, the glass is tinted so that the drinks can't be seen from outside, so you're looking at a darker picture. On the other hand, you will have seats outside as well so if it's a nice day you can sit outside and get proper crowd noise as well. (The crowd is very muted, inside,)

If it's a night game, they dim the lights during the game so the reflections are OK. We find games in full daylight or in full darkness are clearer than games in twilight.

They have tables within the room so you can sit there for the meal and then move your chairs to the window for the match; or, if you prefer (and this is what we do) you can ask for a table by the window and sit there for meal and for match. There is a long desk-like table the length of the window and you can reserve part of that as your particular table. You'll be sitting side by side, facing the pitch.

The food is carvery, three courses (or four, if like us you treat soup and starter as two separate courses). No prawn sandwiches, unless you make your own from the prawn cocktail and the rolls that come with the soup! Lots of staff, very obliging with anything you need. Even a hot water bottle if it helps (yes, seriously. We take one and they fill it up for us if we ask at the bar.)

They’ve done a brilliant job with the hospitality suites compared to how they used to be

Is that why the Jimmy Mac hospitality area is always empty?

The Jimmy Mac stand is terrible value for money in comparison to the Longside as I went in for the last home game. We got drenched watching the game as you can’t see through the glass that well at all from inside so had to sit out, the food was poor and the rooms very 90’s in comparison to the updated longside and Bob lord suites. The longside is only slightly more expensive so we’d have preferred that but our table booking (12) was too large to be accommodated at late notice.

It’s the first time I’ve left the hospitality at Burnley disappointed, as did the whole table. We’d certainly not book that stand next season.

Hospitality in the 1882 lounge for the rovers game was dire. £200 a person and bar a 2-3 minute turn from Jeff there was zero entertainment (pre or post match interviews etc). A full English and that was it food wise.

Looks like they’ve put all the effort in the longside now.

Probably just as bad then, at least you’ll have been dry though I’d certainly not swop my seat in the upper tier for a freebie in there, which says it all.

When I was last in the Bob Lord around 2-3 seasons ago I was lucky enough to be in the directors box so I’d imagine it’s slightly better service.
