Well I have no dog in this fight…. My form is terrible.
When the producers announced Daniel Craig as the next James Bond, I was dead against it. I mean DEAD against it. What are they doing??? No way is he James Bond. Not a chance.
Within 20 seconds of Casino Royale starting, I knew they’d got it absolutely spot on. Excellent choice.

Apparently the new Bond will be officially announced in March, however these big announcements can often be held up for a variety of reasons.
Just browsing the odds and Aaron Taylor-Johnson is firm favourite, which would suggest to me they are following Doctor Who in casting a younger actor in the title role ATJ is only 32, not 100% sure bit a fair chance that would him the youngest actor to ever play Bond.
In fact I've checked and George Lazenby was the youngest ever being only 30 when he took the role, mind you that experiment wasn't entirely successful.
Connery was 32 when filming Dr No, and safe to say he was much more fondly remembered as the man who introduced Bond to the big screen.
Funnily enough I was completely the same regarding Daniel Craig, however given the scripts were getting progressively darker he was an inspired choice at the time with the benefit of hindsight.

Cavill has signed up with Amazon to produce and star in a big sci-fi series based on Warhammer, so he probably won't have time for Bond, which is a shame because he was excellent in Man From Uncle, also quite a big star and I'm not sure Bond directors will want that.
Hardy - maybe too famous now for Bond

At first I was like 'who the **** is Aaron Taylor Johnson and why on earth should he be the next James Bond' but then I googled him and I've never once twigged that the guy from Kick Ass is the same guy as Tangerine is whatdyacallhim superhero from the Avengers is fighting Godzilla before or at the same time as being in Tenet or in the future.
I'm going to have to google whatever a Rege Jean Page is now.

Burnley already has its own famous fictional spy, Harry Palmer, although that fact didn’t transfer to the big screen when they cast Michael Caine in the role!

Ah is that him?
He'd probably be quite good as Bond, thought he was great in Kick ass and I'd watch a film about Tangerine and Lemon from bullet train

Yes I have the book Billion Dollar Brain, in the dust cover Harry Palmer is described as the spy from Burnley.
On another note my best cinema experience ever was watching that film B D Brain at Rosegrove at the former caberet club, I had pie and peas and a pint on a sofa type chair.
