Is it like the Prem rules, and he can't play against us?

When Lowton leaves Burnley he will be taking a wage cut so if he can get 6 months on loan playing first team football whilst still getting his Burnley wage then he'd be mad to leave over a loan deal unless someone offered him a really good contract

His contract runs out this summer I think, so a loan makes sense for him financially

Excellent move for all concerned. I've told a Huddersfield supporting mate that I think he'll be a top player for them this season. A loan makes sense as if they go down he can sign for a Championship side in the summer.

Wonder how much Huddersfield are contributing towards wages or if they have paid a loan fee

Good luck to him. Been a very capable right back for us over the years.

He just doesn’t have the qualities required now to suit our play style.

Great player for us particularly during our Prem years. however our club is now going in a different direction, and he was unlikely to feature with Roberts and Vitinho ahead of him in the pecking order.

Best of luck to him at Huddersfield, an experienced calm head might be just what they need in their relegation battle.

I understand why he's gone, but I sure did enjoy watching him play. Good luck to him.

One of my favourite Clarets in the last ten years and that's saying something given the choice of candidates. Of course, he had his limits in the PL but always gave his all and looked like a footballer who enjoyed playing the game.

Thank you, Lowts, and good luck with the rest of your career.

Good player for us, gave us all and wasn't shy of getting stuck in or giving a bit out. His introduction to Richarlison last season being a case in point.

A really good footballer and professional. Like others, I find it odd that he was deemed to be more suited to SD's style of play than VK's but we are well stocked in the RB department and perhaps the physical demands on the full backs are that bit more under VK. No complaints from me, just best wishes for a good servant of BFC.

Only the very best wishes for Matthew Lowton, who consistently gave everything for our cause. Excellent defender, who will enhance Huddersfield and give them a chance.

All the best Lowts. Great signing for us, and a great servant. Doesn’t owe Burnley a penny, never let us down, always gave his all. And i have his poppy shirt from Brentford at home last season when he scored that header.
Best of luck to him. Hope it works out.

Hopefully there's a clause in the loan deal that stipulates he must play against us in the next relevant fixture, Zoroury and Maatsen would terrorise him. 😎

All the Best Matt, thanks for everything.
