Calendar Attrition, Charlie Taylor's Bum Hand & the Ghost Football

Last years Burnley desktop calendar had a very high attrition rate of 66.66%.
By the time the season started two thirds of the players appearing in the calendar were no longer at the club. This must be an all time high for the desktop calendar.
Another strange feature of the calendar was Charlie Taylor's bum hand. Yes, that's right.
Charlie Taylor has, for some reason, got a hand protuding from his bum. It's *almost certainly* not actually his hand but somebody went to the bother of ensuring it survived the photo cropping.
Added to this, there's a mystery football on the December page in between Charlie and Maxwel. It's clearly not the ball Taylor is playing and if the ball belongs to the image Cornet's picture has been harvested from then he isn't keeping up with play.
Any explanations to Taylor's bum hand and the mystery ball are welcomed.

It's December. It's not a hand, it's Rudolph's antlers. So I'm guessing Santa hiding in his prison pocket is probably the reason for him slicing the ball so badly...

But it is Charlie Taylor's hand?

I can't work out how his hand is contorted like that though?

I don't want to appear needlessly flippant here Rowls, but your wrist rotates I presume?

It looks strange without the context of how is arm is being held. If we could find the original picture it might help.
And there's still the mystery of that football in between them. What's that doing there?

it's not clear to me why it's being suggested that it isn't his hand. I'm sure I'm not the only one that has recreated the posture (without the left foot swing). It's very plausible it's his hand
Oh wait, this is about the dangers of predators in the game

Probably spent 30 seconds too long on this now, but what's this site for if not wasting time?
This popped up on Google, would appear to be the same moment, captured from a different angle. It's like discovering previously unseen footage of the shooter on the grassy knoll in Dallas.

This looks to be very similar albeit a slightly different angle.

Hmmmm, his hand in your photo is twisted
the other way.
His fingers would surely be behind him cheeks?

Those two pics aren’t of the same kick (different football) so it looks like Charlie has a distinct kicking style

Very drole, NRC.
Obviously, what a thread is about might not be clear if moderators delete OPs but leave tangential replies open.
I think I can live with it but it's certainly a strange posture that Charlie has, I genuinely could see it as being his hand.

I’ve genuinely never seen anyone get so much wrong. Constantly.
(Apart from Ringo obviously)
Keep trying though. It’s very entertaining.

couldn't resist. I had written a post that partially defended you yesterday (considering you a reasonable and intelligent chap), but the thread was deleted before I posted

- so it's only fair to get this one in

Hi NRC!
Your posts are thoughtful and considered.
I don't know much about your politics and whatever they are is irrelevant really: You come across well. It's not about reaching agreement, it's about disagreeing well.
I can take the brickbats all day long but it's telling that certain people are quick to insult and abuse me but never want to engage in an actual debate. It's worth a shout out to those who manage to disagree well though and I'd specifically namecheck martin_p alongside you.
I'm not sure if martin labours under a few false assumptions about my motivations but regardless of that, he's always polite when we have exchanges and that's much to his credit.

It gives him a touch of Salt Bae suavenyness to him.
He's a cracking player tho and most unlucky not to be a regular.

I was impressed how you kept your level of courtesy and demeanor while fielding barbs. I think it's also fair to say your underlying agenda was immediately exposed. I don't have politics - I have no voting rights in either the UK or the USA, and in the US most people have settled on avoiding discussing politics amongst friends, neighbors, colleagues, and even in the car pool like the plague. I did do your survey, but haven't figured out how to post images, but it shows me to be a left libertarian.
Quite how you figured that Taylor's left hand was rogue though is a mystery and possibly a product of overthinking it.

Presuming Rowls was tying in both the “ bottom hand “ and Taylor’s “ bum hand “ he’s been dealt this season . Amazed he wasn’t picked up as he’s an excellent defender and wing back .

My "underlying agenda" was stated in the OP that had been deleted. Once the OP had been deleted, it could easily come across as me trying to sly about it.
Obviously, the fact that my friends feel scammed by being swept up in the hysteria into wasting their money by donating to BLM is approaching it from a specific angle and yes, that was designed as a hook.
But I'm hardly shy about my disdain for BLM and I do explain the reasons why.
FWIW, Dermot Gallagher says Charlie Taylor's hand is in "an unnatural position" and I definitely haven't made this up.

He's too good to be a bench-warmer in a Champ side tbh
On the other hand, when we're 6 points clear at the top of the league it's hard to argue for any of the regular starters to be dropped.
It was good to hear the "Oohhh Charlie Taylor" so loud and clear at Swansea because we're lucky to have a player of his calibre to call on from the sidelines. He's not a starter but he's an amazing player.
