What’s happened to Harwood Bellis?

Pulled up with an injury. Based on his reaction I suspect we’ll be without him for a couple of games at least.

Looked a bad one just on the basis of his reaction. Hard to tell what it was, but could be a broken/fractured foot or something like this (metatarsal etc). Pure speculation obviously, just what occurred when it happened and then seeing him in his boot at the end.

If it was a broken or fractured foot he wouldn’t have been hanging around in a boot at the end of the game.

You can certainty see why we’re after another centre-half though. McNally finished the game quite well but had a few very nervous moments.

To say he’s not played a game all season (Crawley at home aside) I was quite impressed! Bit nervy at times but to be expected?

Suppose if you can take anything from this it’s better that it happens during the window.

I’m no Doctor but I’ve broken my foot before and been in a boot - hence why it occurred to me . In that instance, I had no work done on it or anything, just an X-Ray then in the boot for about 6 weeks on crutches. Fine afterwards. Could just be precautionary until they do an X-Ray I suppose.

Yes also possible - clearly foot/ankle. Could just be a sprain but even a bad one of those you’re looking at a month out.

Yeah I just meant if they suspected a break or fracture they’d surely have had him off sharpish for a scan and not let him walk around on it after the game.

At least he was able to walk off, albeit with a limp, so that's what I'm hanging my hat on.
Let's hope it's not too bad, but if he's out, we've replacements.

Going purely off Phil bird's commentary it sounded as if the lad grew into the game. A good experience for him.

Taylor back into CB and Maatsen at LB. 4 of our next 6 are at home and the transfer window is open. If an injury is to happen there are worse times.

Thought McNally was nervous at first, but grew into the game and looked more comfortable the longer the game went on.

I thought the injury may have happened when he collided with Cullen a few minutes earlier .

Re McNally - he was nervous to begin with and the clearance that lead to the second Bournemouth goal probably could have been avoided with a little more composure , but after that he started to find his feet, read the game very well in most parts and won his share of headers in our box. Playing in a game like that will do him no end of good . Well done Luke, but having said that THB back asap please to carry on our fine form

Agree with all of this.

McNally can take from the game that he has just played very well vs a Prem team. Should be a good boost for him.

I was very impressed with McNally. Thought he slotted in very well. I must have missed his 'nervy' moments... But I was looking after my two 4 month olds, so attention was sometimes diverted!

McNally has barely played this season, plus it's never easy getting thrown on as a sub. Wouldn't have any issues with him playing in the league for us.

Thought McNallys last ditch tackle when their player was going to be through to score was timed to perfection. Almost Tarkowski-esque!! If that's a taste of things to come I'll be a bit less worried than when I saw THB hobble off , cos he's been a rock thus far.

THB will be missed ... but if McNally continues as he left off today we will be fine

When I broke my 'little toe' metatarsal I just thought it was a bruise for a week, then decided to go see my GP because it was still sore, ended up a fracture clinic and was only given an elastic sock for it. It was sore but not too painful unless I made certain movements, which I quickly learnt not to do! LOL

I wouldn’t look too much into the fact that he left with a boot on his foot until he has had an X-ray.

NcNally won’t have the passing range but no fears over his defending. He’s a good reader.

Would have thought it would be Charlie coming in rather than McNally anyway.

This is apparently the most common of misconceptions. Approximately half of the population believe that a break and a fracture are two different things.

I think most people know that a break and fracture are the same thing, but colloquially people use the word break to describe a complete snapping and a fracture to describe a cracking of the bone. Nothing wrong with that.

I am a doctor, and I absolutely agree with you. No urgent scan required. Get it later that day. Boot is fine until then

I think you’ll be surprised by the number who think they are two different but similar things and each have their own contrasting definitions of what is and what isn’t.

Thought McNally was ok against a prem side . THB looked like he knew exactly what he’d done, though let’s hope it’s not a break . Taylor at CB will be fine for the championship.

Surely our medical team wouldn’t have had him on his feet moving around if they suspected a break?

The concerns that it may be a fractured or a broken bone is worrying. If it is a bone lets hope it is fractured and not broken

Wasnt there but sounds he was wearing a weight relieving boot so that his foot was getting quite a lot of protection but keeping his leg active

Yes that’s what boots do but I wouldn’t have thought there was any urgency for his leg to be active in such a situation?

Anyway, we can speculate to death on this but we’ll find out for certain next week I’m sure. Fingers crossed for positive news. I wouldn’t like to be without him for a long period.

That's exactly what happened- both players went for the same ball, it was just after Cullens awful pass that Bournemouth scored from He was limping after that incident for about 5 minutes then went down for treatment

Can keep the leg active without walking across a pitch to clap the fans off, McNally grew into the game but it was clear to see at times how important THB and muric are for the style we play

I could play the rest of the season at CB in this side and we’d still go up

I've broken my 5th metatarsal bone 3 times and when that boots on its locked in and its 100% protected and walking around wont make a difference.

One of the times, not long after breaking it, I was out in town at an Oktoberfest night p*ssed out of my head dancing, jumping around and even falling over a few times (its hard to keep your balance in those boots when you're hammered) and it didn't damage or hurt my foot one little bit.

Biggest problem I had was timing when I could get back to sport as went to early one time and managed to re-break it.

Injury due to both he and Cullen going for the same ball with inevitable consequences.

McNally was wetting himself early in and could face getting xaufgt in possession, so nervously turned a couple out. Then, as the game progressed, he got better and better, inc one very needed, timely, last ditch tackle.
