I didn't expect to be seeing him changing games from a number ten position this season, but here we are. He was magnificent today, switched the game in our favour. The changes generally made us just too strong for Coventry, on a tricky day.

Absolute key player today and a big reason why we won along with Beyer and Brownhill.

Those positions he found in the left channel were excellent and fair play to Maatsen for picking him out a couple of times. Lovely cross into the box too. Great to see him playing well after all the injuries he’s had in the past

Great asset.
We finished the game though massively overloaded on the left hand side, it was like listening to Musical Youth.

He and Tella changed the game, plus it allowed Brownhill to drop to a more defensive role, which is his best position.

Looks very classy on the ball, his fresh legs were much needed.

We all used to talk about Dyche fitness, but the number of times Johann went passed they’re defence was something else ,a big shout out for the fitness team, who do a rigorous warm up session for any sub coming on.

He was excellent, as he was at Bourne last week. Obviously really enjoying his football at the moment.

Would have been long gone years ago for 15m-20m but or injuries, that's the sort of player we have at the club and that's why we will win this league at a canter.

My brother called it in the dyche years. Comfortable going either way, can hit it from outside the box, picks a pass and surprisingly good in the air. Ideal 10.

This is why I'd like him to have another game in the cup vs Ipswich, but on the other hand I wouldn't. We don't want another Lincoln.

I like the fact that VK doesn’t wait till the 80th minute to change things around.

Excellent at the front of midfield and leaves Brownhill to play defensively where he’s at his best

Jack's card means JBG and Brownhill might be playing the next few matches, where they finished today.
We seemed slow to get out of second gear today, but JBG upped it, and Brownhill did a great job when he fell back.

JBG has really surprised me this season he's started or came on in most of our games, and generally he's made an impact when needed.

Not surprised by his performances in the slightest. He’s an absolutely quality player, and now that he has had a good run in the side after several long-term injuries, he is at long last showing us all again, what he can do.

Great little cameo near the end of the game. In the centre circle a Coventry player looked likely to nick it off him but he dropped a shoulder, the Coventry player went chasing space and JBG calmly took the ball the other way. Oozed class.

He’s been fantastic in a number of positions this season. Looks like he is enjoying himself too, lovey to see. For all his injuries he’s been a good player for us . Fair play to JBG

He played as a 10 before and it was clear to me it was always going to be his best position due to his lack of pace.
Dyche played players like Boyd and Gudmundsson to fit his system, Kompany instead see's the raw ability in players and plays the system toward the players.

Played 35 minutes (or whatever) and was MOM for me as he had more influence on the outcome of the game than the rest of them put together. Superb today.

He used to have just enough acceleration to steal a yard and whip a cross in. What pace there was has gone but his technique, which is good without being exceptional, remains. However, his superpower is his footballing intelligence. It used to be manifest in his decision making and defensive positional sense and now, albeit in a lower division, it is in his guile and creativity. It may very well be his swansong season in a Burnley shirt but it is great to see him contributing in a new way and going out on a high.

VK and his coaching team have work wonders with players like JBG and Barnes and you have to wonder what he could have done with players like McNeill, Vydra and Weghorst who Dyche absolutely ruined

Johan was playing number 10 at Charlton season before we signed him and had most assists in champ that season in a relegated side, he’s a natural there. But for injuries him and Brady were destined for big things especially after the 17-18 season. Both players then for 3 seasons struggled massively to get fit

To add to your points every time he gets the ball he’s positive, in that he turns towards goal and this drops defences back a few yards, combined with Tella’s pace yesterday is what put Coventry on the back foot

If he was still playing under Dyche, hell no
Because he's now playing under Kompany, oh yes

A ÂŁ10m player other than for his injury record. Superb yesterday, changed the game, and that we have up to a dozen game changers is what sets us apart from others and why we will win the league.

It’s great he’s come back and remarkably stayed injury free. He’s been excellent this season . Though let’s not kid ourselves here , this is JBG’s true level ( a quality champ player )
It’s our ability to bring on experienced prem players like JBG,Taylor,Barnes,Jay etc that given us a real “ bullet proof” feel this season .

Fingers crossed we get a full season out of him, seems a really good egg and as VK says, he’s a solid performer.
If he stays injury free, I’d be pleased if he signed a contract extension

An ok player, I think VK has squeezed more out of him than I expected, I wouldn't be extending his deal though. I think he stood out as a weak link against United, especially in the first half on the left hand side, far too slow and predictable, lacks end product far too often for me.
