24 games in a row
We have scored in 24 championship games in a row, only failing at Watford away.
Keep it up clarets.
Wonder what our record is? Or even the championship record?
This team definitely feels like record breakers.

That means another defeat in our next 3 then, bu**er.
I prefer Leisure's stat of 2 defeats in 50 though, so we are alright for the rest of the season!

Ah yes, I thought we'd lost to Cardiff near the end of 12/13 but we equalised late on.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Mon Jan 16, 2023 2:40 pmIt's 122 games

We only failed to score once in the first 32 league games in 1961/62 but then failed to score in five of the last ten.Quickenthetempo wrote: ↑Mon Jan 16, 2023 12:30 pmWe have scored in 24 championship games in a row, only failing at Watford away.

And that was the game we played Arsenal off the park, yet we somehow contrived to lose the game 0-2.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Mon Jan 16, 2023 2:49 pmWe only failed to score once in the first 32 league games in 1961/62 but then failed to score in five of the last ten.
We finished runners-up in the League and runners-up in the FA Cup, a desperately disappointing finish to an otherwise superb season.

Who'd have thought David Edgar would herald in a new golden era, eh?

Re: 24 games in a row

I remember it now, it was a really flat game and I was watching the Cardiff fans celebrating at the end (think they'd just won the league) thinking how far away we were from experiencing that again. Little did I know!

Re: 24 games in a row
To try and answer the original question, Burnley's longest sequence of scoring at least one goal in a league game is 27, which was achieved in the First Division between February and October 1926 (starting with a 3-2 defeat at Liverpool on 13.02.1926 and continuing until a 4-2 defeat at West Brom on 30.10.1926)Quickenthetempo wrote: ↑Mon Jan 16, 2023 12:30 pmWe have scored in 24 championship games in a row, only failing at Watford away.

The run included a total of 8 defeats, including the 1st and 27th games in the sequence. Game 28 was a 0-0 draw at home to Bury.
