Alan West at No.10 for Luton, a very talented midfield player in his time at Turf Moor.

It was the seventies when I started supporting the Clarets
It’s such a shame there is so little TV coverage thanks to. On Lord refusing cameras at Turf Moor.
I met Colin Waldron once and he is gutted his winning goal away at Deepdale which won us the Championship was not filmed.
Thanks for sharing

I was there pre match went to a pub near ground and was playing darts with the locals a friendly bunch until a skinhead in full attire came in and took exception to one of my mates accents. We are from Yorkshire. Picked on the wrong person and was last seen disappearing into the bogs to deal with a bloody nose. Unbelievably it didn’t kick off as the locals didn’t like him either.
Happy days 😁

Surely it was an equalizer. A point made us champions and a point kept them up. (Nudge nudge). Or have I misremembered?

It was a 1-1 draw - meeting both clubs' needs - but it could also be described as a Championship winning goal.

Anyway to make up for that TV oversight, we did get to see Waldron's Charity Shield winner:

Some years ago I was told that all the match remains on tape at, I presume, Granada or who ever owns them today. I think they said it was raw footage, not edited as you would see in a finished film.
