Thought I might give this place a try this summer and as TFITFOAHK I would ask for personal recommendations.
Any tips/advice would be greatly appreciated, chaps and chapesses.

About 10 years I posted for Fuerteventura advice on Clarets mad, we have been 11 times since. Was there in Nov and going back in March. We have always stayed in Correlajo which is a mix of new and old. Very laid back and has an Italian and South American influence.

Hired a car and visited most places on the island. El Cotillo is an upcoming village / resort in North west of the island. Calleta de Fuste is close to airport and looked quite man made for the British tourist. In the south there's Jandia which had quite a German influence to it.

About to book for March in the Canaries tonight. Is the weather decent that time of year? If I’m spending good money I’m hoping it’s fairly warm. Possibly heading to Lanzarote but either island is appealing.

Been twice in March, once it was good, mid to low 20s with a lot of sunshine, the other time thick cloud and very little sunshine (fleece and hat weather). Its usually windy all year round. Done Lanzarote a few times, Matagorda was the pick from PDC and Costa Teguise. Can get a ferry from Correlajo to Playa Blanca, never done it. It is a short crossing.

Been to correlajo half a dozen times and Jandia once,in correlajo we stopped at the Riu Oliva Beach which is right on the sand dune beach, all inclusive, good food, very clean hotel with pleasant staff, hotel needs an update, there is another Riu hotel next door which is called Tres Islas and I think its 4/5 star. You can walk out of the hotel and go left or right and walk for miles on the beach.
Nice and warm all year round, stopped at that hotel over six times and always enjoyed it.

A great island, particularly if you hire a car and tour around for a few days

As regards resorts Correlajo is the liveliest resort followed by Jandia

If you like quieter resorts El Cotillo is great

It is quite a windy island. So much so the windsurfing championships are frequently held there. Just keep a hold of your plastic beer glass when your by the pool.

Going in 2 weeks, first time in 20years so I'll report back! My recollection was good restaurants, a rock/live music bar, poor snorkeling and sun tempered by the wind. Fancied a chance from Tenerife for an easy warm week

Just got back on Sunday after 2 weeks in Corrallejo.
We had a great holiday- some very hot sunny days and some cloudy ones.
Watched the West Brom match in an Irish-ish pub (I’d asked them to put the match on, so they delayed the start of the drag act until the footy finished!!
So it’s a yes from me!

El Cotillo is a lovely place to spend a lazy day in one of the sun traps with a few ice cold beers.
