Just an option to buy rather than an obligation

Good signing this. Interesting one with the option to buy.

Surprised we’ve moved for both Foster and Obafemi, but this loan situation appears to give us a chance to have a good look at him and assess whether he might have what it takes to step up a league next season.

Pace in behind is always an added bonus.

I think a lot of us thought this ship might have sailed when the Foster speculation started. Not the case though.

Glad we've got this sorted even if it is just a loan for now.

"I'm feeling like Mike at his baddest" - the only link in the lyrics. He's not American so it is confusing :?:

I don’t remember such confusion when our Congolese Belgian midfielder signed in the summer to the tune of an American wrestling video featuring The Rock….?

Exactly this and seems like a perfect deal to do exactly what you've said. Good work by the club.

Both Barnes and Jay are getting on now, and Tella might yet be recalled by Southampton, so no harm in strengthening our forward line.

Sensible of BFC to get an option to buy, if he scores a hatful between now and the end of the season then great, however if it doesn't work out we can then move onto other options in the summer.

He's now got to prove his worth and earn himself a permanent deal, the lad has form for sulking when not being picked or when he doesn't get his own way, he's done this at both previous clubs Southampton and Swansea, makes full sense to me because we get to see what his personality is like before we pay for him

Welcome to the club, I am sure it will be a good signing for us. Looking forward to seeing him and all these new players help us over the remainder of the season. Hopefully he can find some form again with us.

I think the last line explains it.

Its been ongoing for weeks now - so he is asking how long has it taken them to come up with that song/reveal. The song may be relevant(but i don't see it) but the fact that they end the video as they do - could be wrong but until that last bit its symbolic of the the time the media team have had to come up with it rather than the song itself.

Happy with this one. With Obafemi being only 5 ft 7, is he the shortest striker we've ever had?

I think the option is better for us than an obligation. It gives him a massive reason to perform and allows us the opportunity to assess if there’s something better for us if we get promoted. Perfect move this.

Surely this means Dervisoglu will be going back?

Not really had much of a chance, but I guess we have to trust the manager when we're doing so well.

Has this guy been refusing to play for Swansea?

If so, is that a good thing?
I don't know if that is the case but Tarkowski at Brentford and Taylor at Leeds both apparently kicked up a fuss when they wanted to join Burnley. And little needs to be said about their attitude and performances for Burnley.

Some very harsh stuff being said about Obafemi and most of it based on gossip. Whatever the situation behind the scenes - he wanted to join the best team in the league and who can blame him?

He's very welcome. He'll improve us.

I'm sure CT meant Manolo Gabbiadini. After a long away trip Saturday an early Sunday morning typo is forgiven.
Hopefully this signing will up the firepower ever more to reach the PL asap BTW.

Just wondering what the reason was that he hasn't been playing?
Sounds like he's spat his dummy out and sulked, let's not sugarcoat it. Not convinced he's good enough for the Prem, but I'll trust VKs judgement, he hasn't got much wrong so far.

Only five in a match day squad and that doesn’t include international loans, ie Beyer.

Not sure why. We could sign him now with an agreement for payment to be delayed until the summer. There could be other accounting or cash flow reasons for doing it this way, or maybe we want to take a risk-free look at the player before committing to a permanent deal - it seems that the option to buy is in our favour.

Been reported from their end, and ours with Alex James, that the structure of the deal almost guarantees it will be made permanent. Interesting one.

We appear to have a lot of highly trained psychologists on this board, some are so good they are able to identify behaviour and attitudes in people even before meeting them or hearing them speak
